Job Description

This ESD Design Engineer position requires developing and executing product qualification strategies, performing risk assessments, defining quality and reliability goals, and contributing to the design, development, and validation of components, boards, and systems. Responsibilities include developing manufacturing test processes, supporting testability circuits, interfacing with various teams (process development, fab, factory, assembly, manufacturing, and outsource partners), analyzing component and system specifications, ensuring manufacturability, analyzing customer feedback, optimizing production, leading readiness efforts, monitoring post-silicon quality, and driving implementation of learnings. A minimum of 4 years of experience in VLSI engineering or a Ph.D. in a related field is required, along with proficiency in Python or C/C++ and Spice simulations.
Must have:
  • 4+ years VLSI experience or PhD
  • Python/C++ experience (1+ year)
  • Spice simulation experience (1+ year)
  • Develop qualification strategies
  • Perform risk assessments
  • Design & validate components/systems
Good to have:
  • Verilog/VHDL proficiency

Job Description

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Drives the development and execution of product qualification strategies and plans and adherence to release criteria.

  • Performs risk assessments, defines quality and reliability goals, and enables key decisions that affect product quality and reliability.

  • Augments or modifies existing release criteria for new designs and form factors as required.

  • Contributes to design, development, and validation of component, board, and/or systems and the development and implementation of manufacturing test processes.

  • Supports testability circuits, test flows, and methodologies for new products through evaluation, development, and debug of complex test methods.

  • Interfaces with process development, fab, factory, assembly, manufacturing groups, and outsource partners to ensure quality and reliability.

  • Analyzes and evaluates component and system specifications to ensure optimal match of components, system requirements, and test capabilities with specific emphasis on quality and reliability.

  • Ensures manufacturability through thorough analysis of process and spec corners and works with design and manufacturing teams to resolve quality issues before manufacturing ramp.

  • Analyzes early customer feedback with emphasis on driving generation over generation design improvements, manufacturing improvements, and test hole closure activities.

  • Creates and applies concepts for optimizing component and system production relative to both quality and cost constraints.

  • Leads and drives readiness from fab, assembly, and test factory to support product quality execution strategy and site certification activities.

  • Monitors post silicon quality results and identifies areas for improvement.

  • Drives implementation of learning into future product designs and manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic or Computer Engineering.

  • Over 4 years of experience in VLSI engineering or Ph.D. degree in related field.

  • Advanced English level

  • Documented experience greater than 1 year in python or C/C++ though courses or projects or work experience.

  • Documented experience greater than 1 year in spice(circuit) simulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Verilog/VHDL

  • Proficiency in analog circuit simulation, EDA tools for VLSI.
