Job Details

We are the makers of casual mobile hit Love & Pies, which globally launched in September 2021 and has now found its way into the hands of millions of players around the world. We’re backed by Supercell, one of the biggest and best in the industry.

‍We make games for everyone that are snackable yet nourishing — built to fit into your daily life, but with the emotional depth of your favourite TV show. Our team always comes first at Trailmix, and our culture is built on both high performance and high care — we strive to be the best versions of ourselves, but always within an environment based on inclusivity, respect and safety, no matter who you are or where you come from.

About the Role

We’re now looking for a Game Data Lead to join our team and help drive impactful outcomes for our games. In this role, you’ll lead and mentor a small team of Game Analysts, supporting our core game: Love & Pies. You’ll work closely with the Game Lead and cross-functional partners to translate data into actionable insights that shape game direction, improve player experiences, and unlock business growth.

The Day to Day

Lead and Empower a High-Performing Data Team

  • Manage, coach, and support a team of analysts dedicated to a live game, supporting their technical growth and career development.
  • Foster a culture of curiosity, rigorous thinking, and continuous improvement.
  • Optimize the team’s output — from dashboards and reports to ad-hoc deep dives — and ensure analytical excellence.
  • Drive Strategic Insights and Decision-Making
    • Translate key game and business questions into structured analysis plans.
    • Partner closely with the Game Lead, Designers, and PMs to deliver actionable insights that guide design, content, monetization, and live ops decisions.
    • Build compelling stories from data — tailored to both technical and non-technical stakeholders — to drive clarity and alignment.
  • Own and Advance Our Analytics Framework
    • Define success metrics for game features and content; monitor them with effective dashboards and alerts.
    • Review and ensure quality in A/B tests and other forms of experimentation; support sound hypothesis development and results interpretation.
    • Lead the way in ensuring high data quality by collaborating with Data & Game Engineering on event tracking and pipelines.
  • Partner Across Data Disciplines
    • Collaborate with Data Scientists on model development (e.g.,ROI and churn prediction, LTV models), and ensure relevant application in the game and marketing context.
    • Ensure robust, well-documented code and tools are shared across the team (SQL, Python, etc.).
    • Contribute to larger company-wide data initiatives and help us expand data competencies to new games once needed.

About You

  • Deep experience as a game data analyst, ideally with a Data Science background.
  • Deep understanding of how free-to-play games work and through this knowledge able to engage with product, economy, design and the wider game team.
  • You’ve led or mentored a team before and enjoy helping others grow by applying a ‘enable & empower’ mindset.
  • Strategic thinker with entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to balance out short and long-term business goals.
  • You are fluent in SQL and familiar with Python or another programming language for data manipulation and modeling.
  • You’re confident designing and interpreting A/B tests, and comfortable guiding others through the process.
  • You bring clarity and impact through your communication — whether in dashboards, docs, or decks.
  • You are collaborative, humble, and care about creating great games as much as smart analysis.

Great to Have

  • Experience in casual games analytics, especially for F2P titles.
  • Familiarity with advanced statistical techniques and behavior modeling.
  • Understanding of behavioral psychology or player motivation frameworks.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard BI tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau) to visualize and communicate insights effectively.
