Job Description

The Grant and Development Coordinator is responsible for securing grant funding and coordinating development efforts. This involves researching funding opportunities, preparing proposals, maintaining relationships with funders, and preparing budgets. The role also includes donor management, event planning, answering inquiries, and supporting fundraising initiatives. The candidate will also assist in maintaining relationships with donors. The position requires strong project management skills, communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The position requires a strong commitment to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief.

ORGANIZATION SUMMARY
World Relief is a global Christian humanitarian organization whose mission is to boldly engage the world’s greatest crises in partnership with the church. The organization was founded in the aftermath of World War II to respond to the urgent humanitarian needs of war-torn Europe. Today, organizational programming focuses on humanitarian and disaster response, community strengthening and resilience, and refugee & immigrant services and advocacy.


This position is reliant upon funding and may be subject to modification or termination based on resource availability.

The Grant and Development Coordinator is responsible for pursuing and securing grant funding in support of the office goals and coordinating the development efforts of the World Relief offices.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:


    • ESSENTIAL GRANT FUNCTIONS
    • Research grant funding opportunities for local programming.
    • Prepare LOIs, proposals and budgets to submit for funding requests, in collaboration with program managers and directors.
    • Maintain relationships with current funders, providing reports and updates regarding the programs they fund.
    • Preparing budgets in collaboration with the Regional Finance Director.
    • Collaborate with World Relief Home Office staff on grant opportunities for the network.
    •  Remain updated on current program details and outcomes, department needs and organizational direction.
    • Plan, prepare, and facilitate site visits for funders.
    • Edit and submit grant reports to funders, in collaboration with managers.
    • Maintain notes on foundations and grant opportunities; organize proposals in WR database.
    • Maintain relationships with foundations and actively research opportunities to develop new relationships.
    • ESSENTIAL DEVELOPMENT FUNCTIONS
    • Ensure CRM has accurate and up-to-date donor information.
    •  Own donor and gift acknowledgement, including thank-you emails, phone calls, gifts, etc.
    • Assist with planning of development and community engagement events.
    • Answer and field development phone calls and email inquiries.
    • Join Director of Development in planning fundraising initiatives and strategic goals.
    • Help qualify new donors and churches for potential fundraising opportunities.
    • Assist in maintaining relationships with current donors and churches already involved with World Relief.
    • Other essential development functions for World Relief Texas.  

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    • Mature and personal Christian faith
    • Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
    • Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities
    • Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation document
    • Outstanding listening, oral and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to relate to and communicate with diverse communities. 
    •  Project management, from facilitating big-picture strategic conversations about positioning and prospects to completion and on-time submission of full proposal and report packages (narratives, budgets and attachments). 
    • Ability to manage and prioritize competing tasks to meet multiple, simultaneous deadlines. 
    • Extremely self-motivated with a proactive approach to work. 
    • Maintain equal level of professional decorum, confidentially, and respect with people in interacting with participants, staff, high net worth individuals and foundation executives.  

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.   
    • At least three years of experience researching and writing private grants and successful managing grant reporting timelines.   
    • At least two years of experience in non-profit fundraising and/or administrative work.   
    • Excellent writing skills, ability to synthesize data and narrative in compelling, concise writing. 
    • Ability to work effectively both as a team member and independently. 
    • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.   
    • Flexibility and ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects. 
$22 - $26 an hour
