Job Summary

Job Description

The DevOps Engineer at NTD will gather requirements from internal software developers, design, develop, debug, and test continuous integration system build and test jobs. Responsibilities include creating documentation, modifying and maintaining existing code, producing production-ready code, debugging, supporting software applications, participating in testing, and collaborating with other teams. The role requires experience with continuous integration software (TeamCity preferred), infrastructure maintenance (VMs, containers, cloud), programming languages (C# preferred), scripting languages (PowerShell preferred), Windows/Linux configuration, source control (Git), and software development methodologies. Up to 10% domestic and international travel may be required.
Must have:
  • 3+ years CI experience (TeamCity preferred)
  • Infrastructure experience (VMs, Containers)
  • C# (preferred), Java, Python experience
  • PowerShell, Bash, Ruby scripting
  • Windows/Linux configuration knowledge
  • Git and branching strategies
  • Excellent communication skills

The NTD DevOps group gathers our internal software developers’ requirements, then implements the needed build and test jobs in our continuous integration system. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, cares deeply about providing excellent customer service, has a passion for learning, and has strong problem solving and debugging skills.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
  • Gather requirements from internal software developers to learn what build or test jobs are needed
  • Design, develop, debug and test continuous integration system build or test jobs based upon requirements
  • Create concise, easy to read documents to facilitate efficient software development
  • Modifies and maintains existing code
  • Produces production-ready code to defined specifications with assistance and review from more senior engineers
  • Debugs own code
  • Supports and/or installs software applications/operating systems for development and server applications
  • Participates in the testing process through test strategy and test plan review, use-case testing, review and analysis
  • Learns how to collaborates with peer groups and other teams across Nintendo
  • Up to 10% travel, domestic and international

SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong problem solving and debugging skills
  • 3+ years with continuous integration software (e.g., TeamCity (preferred), Jenkins, Buildbot)
  • Relevant experience with infrastructure creation & maintenance (VMs, Containers, Cloud-based infrastructure)
  • Fluent in one of the following programming languages: C# (Preferred), Java, Python, or equivalent
  • Experience with one of the following scripting languages: PowerShell, Bash, Ruby, or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Windows and/or Linux configuration
  • Knowledge and understanding of software product development, related tools and testing paradigms
  • Strong understanding of source control (e.g., Git) and branching strategies
  • Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred 
  
This position is onsite in Redmond, WA, and not open to remote status at this time. 
 
 
This position includes a base salary range of $115,152 - $172,728 annually, potential for a semi-annual discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
