Job Description

Head- Govt Sales

Government sales head manages the sales function for the assigned BG(s) in the Market in order to maximize sales, volumes and revenues and ensure the right organization and structure is in

place to deliver on the sales objectives

Your role is to: 

  • Manages the sales function in the Markets order to maximize sales, volumes and revenues for assigned portfolio, across regions.
  • Develop clear and achievable strategies, objectives and tactical plans based on segmentation, customer needs / customer centricity and market conditions synchronized with the BMC objectives.
  • Ensure sales efforts align with and support organizational strategy, SPoR (both long and short-term), and BMC plans.
  • Establishes key sales commercial and operations plans including processes and strategies for: distribution, contracting, business planning, sales comp., forecasting, budgeting, and KPI selection.
  • Contributes to marketing plan: product prices and sales priorities, and responsible for price realization.
  • Has the authority and accountability to negotiate contracts and prices within the limits of the sales plan and sales policy.
  • Gains and maintains market information and knowledge in order to obtain and maintain the targeted market shares across assigned product portfolio.
  • Ensure un-compromised implementation of the standard Philips business processes, quality standards and standards of business conduct according to Philips policies.
  • Responsible for compliance performance within the district and for reporting compliance issues quality & regulatory functions (for management review purposes).

You’re the right fit if you have 

  • Responsible for government sales and partnership with customers in a country or key market.
  • Responsible for creation and implementation of the sales strategy and the Sales Plan, including sales forecasts, and AOP.
  • Leads govts sales team (Sales Specialists in the markets), working closely with account managers, operations and marketing and services in the market, as well as other functions (e.g Finance, BT, Q&R, etc) in the Marke
  • Deployment of aligned sales and distribution strategy, in cooperation with marketing and other functions.
  • Small product portfolio may be a new product/market combination.
  • Improvement of sales at existing customers, improvement of customer satisfaction.
  • Finds new customers within given strategy.
  • Business magnitude: 630 Cr INR.

Minimum requirements:

  • University degree and 16+ years of relevant experience with a solid track record in government sales and management of sales teams in B2B/ B2C.
  • Working in multi-channel (direct/indirect) environments and e-commerce.
  • Experience in matrix organizations, and cross-functional experience,
  • Solution/consultative sales.
  • Certified LEAN Advance
