The role also involves leading and developing the sales team through training, coaching, and performance evaluations, along with strategic planning and reporting. Comprehensive training will be provided to master product knowledge and sales techniques. The ideal candidate should be passionate about customer relationships, skilled in sales strategy, and ready to lead a motivated team.

Inside Sales Manager – Active Selling Focus

UFP Factory Built is a leading provider of structural solutions and essential components for industries that power modern living – modular housing, RVs, and cargo trailers. From framing lumber and engineered wood products to advanced electrical components, we help our partner build smarter, faster, and more efficiently. 

We are seeking a dynamic and results driven Inside Sales Manager to lead our inside sales team and drive customer satisfaction, sales growth, and team performance. The ideal candidate will possess strong sales acumen, excellent communication skills, and a passion for building lasting relationships with customers and internal teams alike.

Key Responsibilities


Customer Engagement & Sales Execution

  • Active Selling: Build strong relationships with existing customers through consistent communication and personalized support.
  • Consultative Sales: Understand client needs and recommend the most suitable products and solutions for their projects.
  • Customer Retention: Proactively resolve issues, manage expectations, and ensure continued satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Sales Growth: Generate and solicit sales orders via phone and web-based leads, driving product penetration and new product awareness.
  • Customer Outreach: Maintain communication through brand bulletins, brochures, and program updates.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Direct and motivate a team of inside sales representatives to ensure maximum productivity and performance.
  • Provide ongoing training, coaching, and performance evaluations to help employees grow and succeed.
  • Conduct annual reviews, manage discipline when necessary, and support career development.
  • Coordinate internal operations to ensure accurate and timely order processing and delivery.

Strategic Planning & Reporting

  • Prepare reports and correspondence to support business decisions.
  • Collaborate with marketing to ensure timely distribution of samples and promotional materials.
  • Work closely with vendors and distributors to grow product reach and strengthen business partnerships.
  • Assist in managing aged inventory and accounts receivable to improve financial efficiency.

Training & Support Provided


You will receive comprehensive training to:

  • Master product knowledge and meet sales targets.
  • Learn negotiation techniques and drive revenue through customer communication.
  • Understand gross margin and the company’s collection processes.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years in customer service and sales; supervisory experience a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and basic business software.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of product lines, technical specifications, and customer base.
  • Communication: Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal skills.

Bonus/Incentive Pay
The percentage of incentive compensation that may be earned varies based on the customer account classification and is calculated based on collected gross profit.
