Our Romero Games QA team is looking to add experienced QA to our team.  You will have worked as QA on at least one shipped title, and be familiar with the development process from start to finish.  Alongside this experience you’ll have a passion for games, an eye for detail and plenty of time spent playing a variety of First Person Shooters.

Romero Games QA is an integral part of the development team, so this role is based onsite in our Galway studio. A relocation package is available.

What you will do:

  • Identify, report and regress software defects in broader / more complex areas of the game

  • Participate in team playtests, provide functional and qualitative feedback as well as assisting with playtest build selection

  • Report issues; then follow up with developers and other stakeholders to ensure issue resolution.

  • Provide some support and mentoring for junior QA testers.

  • Contribute to the creation of test plans and strategies.

  • Generate reports for sharing with our development team & other stakeholders as well as internal QA use

  • Provide information and support to ensure effective collaboration with external QA partner teams 

  • Attend developer demos of new features / content; ask questions, brief QA team members, prepare documentation 

  • Create; align with development; execute on; and report on validation test cases for complex game areas

What you need to have:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in test roles

  • Experience with delivering QA support through Development to Launch 

  • Experience with relevant testing tools on consoles and PC

  • Experience mentoring junior team members

  • Experience with bug tracking databases (e.g. JIRA)

What is nice to have:

  • Experience working with SCRUM/Agile methodologies

  • Understanding of relevant technical and performance requirements of all platforms

  • Experience playtesting, including providing feedback

  • Experience with Google and Microsoft office applications and tools

  • Use of Test Case Management software

  • Experience with continual development environments 

  • Experience with Live Operations and games as a service from a QA perspective

  • Familiarity with certification and submissions requirements (TRC / TCR) for console platforms.

  • Experience working closely with build and release teams including use of version control systems

  • Experience with all phases of development and test, from prototyping to soft launches to worldwide launches and post launch live service
