About the Role
As a Junior Designer you will assist our team with designing and balancing elements of our game’s features, as well as working closely with other disciplines to help create the very best experience for our players.
Responsibilities
- Collaborating with the design team to create and implement engaging game content that aligns with the overall narrative and gameplay objectives
- Assisting more senior designers in the development of small features, game-flows and events
- Assisting more senior designers to support the creation of design briefs, flowcharts, and feature layouts
- Participating in playtesting sessions, gathering and analysing feedback to iterate on and improve game features and mechanics
- Liaising with artists, programmers, and other team members to help ensure the smooth integration of design elements into the game engine
- Keeping up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging game design techniques and technologies
- Attending regular team meetings to maintain visibility on the overall creative direction and vision of the game
Experience
- A degree in Games Design, Interactive Media, Digital Arts, or a related field.
- Previous practical experience in game design would be advantageous.
Technical
- A basic understanding of game design principles, including mechanics, storytelling, and level design would be an asset
- A passion for developing and playing mobile games and a deep understanding of what makes games fun and engaging
- A basic understanding of Unity / Unreal engines would be beneficial
- A basic familiarity with version control software such as Perforce would be an asset
- A basic understanding of UI / UX is needed
- Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office package (or alternative) would be beneficial
- A basic understanding of monetisation in free-to-play games
- Able to write and update documentation
- A basic knowledge of games; passion for casual, mobile, and classic arcade game genres
- Able to passionately explain exciting ideas, and inject belief into the team
- An enthusiastic approach to new ideas and mechanics

- Fluency in English, with excellent communication skills
