We’re excited to be hiring a Junior Graphic Designer for a dynamic Merchandise Goods Company based in New York City/Theater District. This is a hybrid role, requiring you to be onsite 4 days a week.
As a Junior Graphic Designer, you’ll have the opportunity to work on a variety of creative and design projects for a fun and innovative company. You’ll be responsible for producing merchandise designs, product mockups, print materials, and more, all while working closely with a collaborative team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate designer looking to gain hands-on experience and further develop their portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create concepts and designs for a variety of products, including T-shirts, hats, totes, mugs, and more.
- Design stylized/lifestyle product mocks to showcase merchandise in appealing ways.
- Assist in the design and layout of souvenir books and related materials.
- Retouch photos to ensure high-quality, professional presentation.
- Create product decks to present design concepts to internal teams.
- Set up production print files ensuring correct specifications for size, color, and production requirements.
- Contribute to program book inserts with typeset documents in InDesign.
- Take on additional design tasks as needed to support the team.
Required Qualifications:
- A strong portfolio showcasing your design work, with an emphasis on print (experience in merchandise design is a plus but not necessary).
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Strong understanding of vector art, color profiles, print DPI, and basic design principles.
- Familiarity with print production and an understanding of print and production requirements.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and manage a range of design tasks for various brands.
- A background in product design/production is a plus but not required.
- Basic knowledge of Monday.com (or similar project management platforms) is helpful, but not essential.
- A keen attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with the team.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn and grow in the design field.
Bonus:
- Interest in Broadway or familiarity with the industry is a nice-to-have, but not required.
