⏰Hours: 4 to 8-hour shift pattern including nights and weekends. Shifts can start as early as 07:00, with later shifts ending at 02:00
KinaTrax develops a markerless motion capture system that analyzes the 3D movement of baseball pitchers and hitters in-game. The system is installed in ballparks throughout the country and is utilized by professional baseball teams to assess and enhance player performance and prevent injuries. As part of Hawk-Eye Innovations and Sony’s Sports businesses, we are at the forefront of sports technology, delivering cutting-edge solutions to top-flight sports leagues.
We are seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented candidates to serve primarily as KinaTrax Stringers with cross-training on Hawk-Eye baseball tracking systems. This position will focus on operating the KinaTrax motion capture system for Major League Baseball games and affiliates, with secondary responsibilities related to Hawk-Eye's tracking technology. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with advanced sports technologies while being paid to watch baseball!
On any given day, you could:
Operate the KinaTrax system remotely for games in all US time zones
Capture in-game video data on a play-by-play basis using KinaTrax software
Monitor the system, troubleshoot issues, and log information during games
Validate all information and upload data after games
Work closely with game-night support staff to ensure proper operation and accuracy of data
Be available approximately one hour before first pitch and remain available until approximately one hour after the final out (5-6 hour shifts)
You will also gain exposure to Hawk-Eye systems and you could:
Conduct pre-game checks of Hawk-Eye tracking systems
Operate Hawk-Eye technologies during games remotely from the Atlanta office
Identify, solve, and report technical issues promptly
Liaise with MLB and MLB Teams personnel both on-site and remotely
Provide real-time, quality data to MLB/MLB Teams
Take responsibility for data integrity
This position is perfect for you if you possess:
Strong understanding of baseball
Excellent attention to detail and organization skills
Ability to work remotely for games on weeknights and weekends
Strong computer proficiency (Windows OS and Windows-based software)
Ability to quickly learn and operate new software
Laptop/computer with external monitor (multiple or widescreen monitors preferred)
Strong & stable internet connection
Logical problem-solving ability
Ability to remain focused in a high-pressure, live sports environment
Professional communication skills
Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes at short notice
Desirable experiences/knowledge:
Background in baseball analytics
Knowledge of networking principles
Previous experience with motion capture or tracking systems
Experience in live sports production environments
