Teravision Games seeks a Lead Game Designer with 5+ years of experience to lead and inspire a team in creating extraordinary games. Must have expertise in player motivation, game design principles, and Unreal Engine. Experience in developing games for multiple platforms is essential.

We are looking for a Lead Game Designer to inspire and drive the team to create extraordinary games that deliver exceptional experiences. Hold the game vision and creative direction while leading the execution of the product throughout the development cycle, from concept to pre-production, production, growth, and live game management.


Responsibilities:


Creative Visionary

  • Develop and clearly communicate a compelling and cohesive creative vision for each project and the overall portfolio, ensuring it aligns with game objectives and resonates with the target audience.
  • Lead the ideation & iteration process, fostering an environment that promotes innovative thinking and the development of unique gameplay concepts.


Leadership and Collaboration

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of game designers and artists, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including artists, programmers, and producers, to ensure the seamless integration of design elements into the overall game structure.
  • Report directly to the Creative Director to ensure alignment of the game’s creative vision with company goals and direction.


Design

  • Design and refine game mechanics, systems, and features that enhance player engagement and satisfaction.
  • Conduct thorough playtesting and gather feedback to iteratively improve gameplay experiences throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Master player motivations and employ innovative approaches to identify product-market fit, shape the addressable market, and ensure a solid value proposition for our games aimed at our target audiences.
  • Advocate for player-centric design by understanding player behaviors and preferences to deliver experiences that resonate with the target audience.
  • Analyze player feedback and market trends to inform design decisions and continuously enhance the gaming experience.
  • Be able to use Unreal Engine to prototype game mechanics, balance game economy and polish the game experience using all the assets and modules the team provides.


Project Management

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive design documentation, ensuring clarity and alignment across the development team.
  • Effectively manage timelines and resources to meet project milestones while proactively identifying and addressing potential roadblocks.


Requirements:

  • +5 years of experience in game design, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Expertise and a deep understanding of player motivations, allowing for the creation of engaging experiences.
  • Excellent understanding and hands-on experience with all aspects of game design, including systems, economy, levels, narrative, and social play.
  • Proven track record of owning the game vision from concept to live game, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Proficiency in Unreal Engine
  • Experience in developing games for multiple platforms (PC/ console).
  • Capability to create rapid prototypes and guide design from conceptualization to production.
  • A strong and diverse portfolio of game design work, highlighting significant contributions to successful projects.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of articulating and conveying design concepts and ideas effectively to diverse audiences.
  • A forward-thinking mindset with a passion for staying abreast of industry trends and a willingness to experiment with new design approaches.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt designs based on player feedback and data analytics.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration among designers, artists, and programmers.
