Job Description

Lead Java Developer needed for a modernization project of core business systems for a large insurance client. Responsibilities include technical leadership of a development team, mentoring junior developers, ensuring cloud readiness (Azure APIM and Gateway integration), collaborating with other teams and the client, and actively using static and GenAI code conversion tools. The project involves supporting Kubernetes applications, decoupling a monolith application into microservices, and migrating to a modern technology stack. The role requires strong Java, Spring/Spring Boot, and enterprise application architecture expertise, along with experience in distributed systems and leading distributed teams.

Must have:

4+ years enterprise backend system design experience
Strong Java, Spring/Spring Boot knowledge
Deep understanding of enterprise application architecture
Experience with distributed systems & leading teams
Good SQL knowledge
Microservice architecture familiarity
Kubernetes/Container experience
PostgreSQL/Oracle/SQL Server experience
Agile & DevOps adoption

Good to have:

Azure & cloud architecture experience
Distributed cache systems experience
GenAI tool experience

Project description

Modernization project of core business systems for a large insurance client.

The activities include the support applications running in Kubernetes, decoupling monolith application to smaller services and migration to modern technology stack.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Lead Java Developer who can help to perform migration of client platform:

Take over technical leadership of the part of development team

Mentoring of several developers

Quickly onboard to Customer's processes

Ensure Cloud Readiness and integration of Azure APIM and Gateway

Collaborate with other teams and client to find the best solutions

Active applying of static and GenAI based code conversion tools

Skills

Must have

Readiness to work until 8.00 pm CET (no need to do overtimes);

At least 4 years' work experience including enterprise backend system design experience;

Strong knowledge of Java language and Spring/Spring Boot;

Deep understanding of enterprise application architecture patterns;

Experience with distributed systems;

Experience in leading a distributed team;

Good knowledge of SQL;

Familiar with microservice architecture patterns;

Familiar with Containers and Orchestration Systems (Kubernetes/PKS/OpenShift);

Experience with PostgreSQL/Oracle/SQL Server;

Adoption of Agile and DevOps culture;

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice to have

Experience with Azure and knowledge of cloud architecture patterns;

Experience with distributed cache systems;

Experience with GenAI tools or solutions.
