Summary

As a Lead Producer for The Sims, you will be responsible for leading a cross-functional team in the reimagining of the beloved franchise. You will set the vision and goals for the product, prioritize development, and ensure the highest quality and market-fit. You will be the guardian of the player promise, collaborating with partners in Design, Marketing, Brand, and Analytics to create products that exceed player expectations. You will be responsible for engaging with metrics and responding to insights about the audience and market opportunities to meet business goals. You will partner closely with the Lead Development Director, who is the Project Manager for the pack, to ensure successful execution. You will be leading a diverse team across different time zones and locations. You will report to the Senior Development Director.

What a Producer does at Maxis:
 Putting players first to make the best possible game is our job. Producers are the owners of holding the vision and having the answer to “What are we doing?” and “Why are we doing it?”A Producer at Maxis works daily leading a team, collaborating with multidisciplinary team-members to decide goals, align and agree on the priorities of the work. Our Producers also maintain a culture of regular reviews, always playing and gathering feedback for the game we're making, whilst keeping a big-picture view of how we will meet our product goals.
  What you will do as a Lead Producer:
  • You are the Product Owner for a cross functional team and will set the vision and goals for what we create.
  • You will set priorities and assess quality and market-fit of the product.
  • You are the guardian of the player promise and will collaborate with partners in Design, Marketing, Brand and Analytics to create products that surprise and delight our players.
  • Engage with metrics and respond to insights about our audience and market opportunities to meet our business goals.
  • Your partner in crime will the Lead Development Director, who is the Project Manager for the pack. Your partnership sets the foundation for success.
  • You will be leading a diverse team across different time zones and locations.
  • You will report to the Senior Development Director.
Qualifications: 
  • 5+ year working as a Producer, with experience leading game development teams.
  • The ability to talk across all levels of an organization.
  • The ability to share the vision of the project to your team and bring them along for the journey.
  • Agile project management processes.
  • Data Informed mindset - use data to inform product decisions, priorities and goals.
  • Team player that brings excitement and enthusiasm to work each day.
  • You have a passion and empathy for solving people's problems and building happy, motivated teams.
  • A deep love and understanding of The Sims franchise and community is a plus!
