Lead Software Engineer for LeagueSpot, a fast-growing esports platform. Build, lead, and innovate on a modern tech stack with React, .NET, and SQL on Azure. Must have strong full-stack development experience and a passion for gaming and esports.

The Lead Software Engineer is a crucial role on our product team, responsible for growing and leading a team of software developers that iterate on and operate the products that are core to our ability to create amazing gaming experiences. We’re on a modern stack, leveraging React 17, .NET 6 and SQL on auto-scaling Azure infrastructure. You will wear a lot of hats, having a direct role in technical design, programming, technical support, and documentation of our applications while working with external technology vendors and partners. You’ll also educate senior leadership on technology and play a valuable role as it relates to the overall goals of LeagueSpot. Expect to be very hands on (50%+ code) in this role.

Requirements

  • Gaming & esports literacy
  • Passionate and hard-working team member who strives to build outstanding tech products
  • Stellar communication skills with the ability to take loose requirements and collaborate to define and implement new features
  • Curiosity to ask great questions and constantly identify areas of improvement
  • Full-stack (web, API, database) development experience
  • 4+ years of building JavaScript web applications (React preferred)
  • 4+ years of building server-side applications (C# preferred)
  • 4+ years of SQL experience
  • Advanced cloud skills (Azure preferred)
  • Strong desire to learn on the job and continuously grow as an engineer

Location

We’re headquartered in downtown Chicago, IL, but currently working fully remote due to COVID-19. We are accepting remote applicants.
