Inspired by top party royale games, you’ll design levels in the Unity Engine that challenge, engage, and delight players while ensuring smooth gameplay flow.

As part of our design team, you will work closely with artists, engineers, and product teams to build fun, replayable levels that surpass the competition. You'll also adopt an established design rubric that emphasizes pacing, difficulty, risk vs. reward, skill utility, and player satisfaction.

If you have a passion for designing memorable multiplayer experiences and a deep understanding of what makes obstacle course games fun, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:
• Adopt & contribute to the established design rubric to ensure levels align with pacing, difficulty, and engagement principles.
• Design & develop dynamic obstacle course levels with balanced challenge and accessibility.
• Create & iterate on new game modes to keep gameplay fresh and engaging.
• Collaborate with other designers and product leadership to ensure smooth level functionality.
• Partner with engineers to develop innovative level mechanics that enhance gameplay.
• Work with artists to transform greybox levels into visually stunning, fully realized playable environments.
• Implement interactive elements & real-time events to enhance excitement and unpredictability.
• Balance level difficulty to ensure accessibility for all player skill levels while maintaining challenge.
• Playtest & refine levels based on player feedback, data analysis, and competitive benchmarks.
• Optimize levels for performance, player flow, and replayability on mobile devices.
• Collaborate with QA to identify and resolve level design issues for a polished experience.
• Stay up to date on industry trends and continuously improve level designs to compete with and surpass leading party royale games.
• Contribute to the game's overall gameplay design vision and style, ensuring consistency and engagement.

Ideal Candidate:
• Passion for fun, social, and competitive multiplayer games, with a deep appreciation for engaging gameplay.
• Strong understanding of level design principles and what makes a game truly fun and rewarding.
• Deep knowledge of player behavior and motivations, ensuring levels are intuitive and engaging.
• Understanding of game physics and how they impact level interactions and player experience.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, remote team environment, collaborating effectively across disciplines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a creative mindset for designing unique gameplay experiences.
• Experience in creating and maintaining detailed level design documentation for clear communication.
• Experience in building mobile games is preferred, with a focus on accessibility and performance.
• Proficiency with Unity game engine, especially with prefabs and scriptable objects for efficient level creation.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, Perforce) for seamless team collaboration.
• Excellent communication skills, ensuring effective teamwork in a remote environment.
• Comfortable using collaboration tools like Slack to stay aligned with the team.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience in a similar role on mobile games is preferred, but not required.
• Experience designing levels for multiplayer or physics-based games, ensuring engaging and dynamic gameplay.
• Experience designing levels for race and survival modes is preferred, with a focus on pacing and challenge.
• Degree in game design or related field is a plus, but not required.
• Understanding of monetization strategies and how they impact live-service game updates.
• Familiarity with procedural content generation and mobile game optimization for performance and scalability.
• Experience working on live-service games, contributing to regular content updates and evolving gameplay.
• Experience with user-generated content platforms and fostering community engagement.
