The Role
Now as Netflix explores a broader world of entertainment – expanding into Games, Ads, and more – we are looking for a content analyst to bring together all of our work in the rapidly expanding world of Live.
We’ve been part of the Live journey since Chris Rock kicked us off with Selective Outrage and along the way we’ve invented new ways of working, processes, and tools that transformed pre-launch analysis, classification, and title fulfillment work that once took days into a real-time Live machine. We’re ready to go to our second act: building a dedicated Live team that works to analyze, rate, and launch more member-delighting Live titles than ever before, including from January 2025.
To get there, we’ll need an adept and talented Content Analyst, to analyze, tag, research, and write detailed insights for Live series and events.
As this is a new role and crosses domains, this role will report jointly to the Leader, PDP Live, and to the Director, Content Understanding.
Has a deep and broad knowledge and experience of Live media and is passionate about global entertainment. They can succinctly and broadly communicate what’s important about a piece of content, and why. They are comfortable working in a high-volume, high-quality, deadline- and data-driven environment. They are an excellent cross-functional partner who can relay the importance of this work to colleagues beyond your team, as well as collaborate on unique projects that use tags, metadata, and content insights in new and engaging ways on service. They are flexible, adaptive and curious in an ever-evolving organizational landscape.
Analyze, tag, research, and write detailed insights for Live series and events, before, during and after the events.
Operate within a dual-reporting line structure, in which you are a point of contact for cross-functional team members, representing a slate of Live series and events.
Communicate analysis to cross-functional stakeholders, including Content teams and the Product, Discovery & Promotion Live team
Build strong xfn partnerships with Product, Merchandising, Creative Services, Content, and Marketing at all levels across the business.
Collaborate on other editorial and innovation projects that require cross-functional workflows.
Have your finger on the pulse with regard to current affairs and cultural moments, while also being aware of historical, political, social and/or sensitive issues related to Live content.
Represent, educate on and advocate for all of Product Metadata and Ratings.
Prior experience in media as a writer or editor covering Live series and events, or experience as a Content Specialist, Insights Strategist, Metadata Analyst or Platform Editor with a focus on Live series and events
Passionate about Live series and events with a deep knowledge of the global entertainment industry and the global streaming landscape
Ability to adapt your work quickly to Live programming in flight
Excellent communication, presentation and cross-functional skills within a highly matrixed org structure
Ability to master internal tools and systems successfully
Fluency in Airtable, Google Sheets, or other data trackers and data management systems
Experience working with large data catalogs is a plus
