Manager, Software Engineering

We are seeking a Manager, Software Engineering to develop and guide a team of Engineers working on delivering in-house applications. This will involve creating seamless and secure solutions and ensuring delivery of exceptional user experiences. You will guide a team that works across the stack contributing to both front-end and back-end architecture and implementation, creating a productive engineering environment and levelling up your team and our capabilities. You will collaborate with business users, product managers, and other technical teams across the globe as required.

What you'll be doing:

• Leading, mentoring, and empowering a growing team of hardworking engineers to deliver against strategic business outcomes
• Establishing a strong and inclusive engineering culture within our office
• Assist in the delivery of multiple projects across multiple platforms. Helping teams estimate, plan, and slice projects to frequently deliver value to production.
• Collaborate across business units and product teams spread over multiple timezones
• Execute against the team's vision, strategy, and roadmap.
• Act as a change agent, initiating appropriate changes to support continuous business improvement
• Comfort with proactively and independently working towards results in large, distributed team environments.

What we're looking for:

• Overall experience of at least 6 years in the software development industry
• At least 2 years of people management experience, with experience managing multiple teams or one larger team
• Able to manage, mentor, and empower teams, including other people managers
• Proven leadership skills and a passion for building, maintaining, and deploying both internal business applications and highly available services
• Strong communication, cross-group collaboration, and interpersonal skills. The ability to flex communication style to work with business and non-technical users in addition to engineers
• Ability to balance priorities across multiple projects.
• Ability to advise and influence technical discussions and decisions.
• Experience with agile development practices emphasising continuous improvement.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Experience with Java, Kotlin, or similar technologies, and delivering microservices
• Prior experience with one or more of the following technologies or areas is a plus: React, React Native
