About the Role:
As the Marine Operations Lead, you will oversee the planning and management of all aspects related to Maersk's customer commitments and asset optimization within a specific service scope, including container flows (empty and laden) and vessel scheduling. You will manage network complexities across various trades, including feeder networks, while optimizing vessel schedules and cargo flows. Additionally, you will guide teams and stakeholders toward achieving optimal customer and business outcomes, minimizing behavioural costs, and mitigating operational risks at terminals.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage vessel scheduling, including incident management and seasonal contingency planning, to meet internal and industry reliability targets on both short- and long-term basis, while optimizing bunker consumption. Understand the impact of service contingencies on the entire network and guide decision-making towards the best overall outcome
Deliver business outcomes by the application of combined data analytics methods to improve customer experience and reduce inefficiencies (cost/waste) across the organization
Ensure we deliver the product and promise we sold to our customers. Identify structural E2E opportunities for cargo routing optimization on the network. Actively interact and collaborate on Key customer discussions to improve Customer Engagement experience
Collaborate with Area operations and various internal and external stakeholders (Terminals/Suppliers/Partners) to ensure end to end experience to our customers
Maximize asset utilization by managing teus and tons allocation on owned and partners’ vessels. Provide high quality on cargo planning and connectivity, on the entire Trade. Guarantee optimal laden and empty flows across Trades to safeguard HUBs and Terminals healthy levels (SOC)
Ensure port calls are planned and executed at highest quality with lowest possible cost (Bunker waste and Behavioral costs)
Participate and coordinate new deployments and optimization opportunities with Ocean Network Product managers, leading to sustaining customer experience and network efficiencies
Lead transformation efforts and drive initiatives, guiding teams in adapting to new technologies, processes, policies, and evolving business environment
What we are looking for:
A Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Maritime Studies or a related field is preferred
Extensive experience in maritime operations or adjacent industries
Exceptional communication skills, effectively engaging with stakeholders at all levels across the organization (including externally)
Cost Leadership and strong ability to articulate and influence on cost reduction initiatives
Able to work autonomously and proactively to take calculated, analytical and holistic decisions in a dynamic and complex environment
Act as change pioneer, who thrives on constant change; adapts well to new ways of working
Exhibits a high level of determination to achieve functional objectives, business goals, consistently seizing opportunities to elevate performance
