This role involves audience research, budget allocation, media planning, and performance measurement across the marketing mix (excluding performance marketing). Responsibilities include collaborating with internal teams and external agencies, managing projects, and optimizing media channels (digital, social, DRTV). The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience in media planning, a strong understanding of the digital ecosystem, and experience working with multiple agencies. The focus is on the US market, but strong planning experience outweighs market-specific expertise.

Since the launch of Candy Crush in 2013 King has experienced significant growth in the mobile gaming category and a significant driver of that growth came from Performance Marketing (mobile UA & DRTV) of which King was one of the first gaming developers to embrace and scale.

However, with increased competition and more demanding consumers, we need to evolve the way we communicate with both active and new players to ensure the game remains relevant to over 200 million monthly players who still play globally.

To help us on this journey we are looking for an experienced best in class Media and Communications Planner who will support the development of our integrated media strategy to connect to new players, working collaboratively across the Marketing organization and our external partner agencies, primarily the media agency.

Your role within our Kingdom

  • Supporting the Communications Planning Senior Manager and Associate Director - you will be responsible for developing truly integrated media/creative led strategies that attract and engage new and active players audiences inclusive of; audience and market/competitor research, budget allocation across channels, media strategies & tactics, measurement and reporting

  • The role will involve responsibility of the entire marketing mix (excluding performance marketing) and therefore experience of developing cohesive and measurable communications  strategies, and the role of brand media within this. You will have strong understanding how to develop campaigns across the full media mix including paid/owned/earned to maximise impact

  • You will be a key contact with the media agency, responsible for prioritising day to day deliverables, managing projects and supporting on agency discussions both internal and external with the ability to get the most out of our agency partners in the most collaborative way possible.

  • Grounding and experience in digital media strategy and implementation, specially within social platforms. DRTV is also a key always-on growth lever for Candy and experience planning this media channel is a plus.

  • Work with internal marketing teams to ensure plans are aligned, integrated, measured and that deliverables align with overall plan strategies & tactics, and key timelines are met

  • Identify and define key media, content partnership and innovation opportunities that align with overall marketing strategies

  • Manage measurement projects and media performance benchmarks & KPIs over time, develop measurement and test and learn frameworks as part of campaign planning and analysis, working closely with our marketing analytics team

  • Work closely with finance partners to ensure investment is tightly controlled and smoothly delivered

Skills to create thrills

  • A strategic, collaborative individual who puts player centricity at the center of their thinking

  • Has a track record in developing effective media campaigns

  • Has worked in a media agency or media related client-side role for min 5+ years with a solid understanding of the digital and social ecosystem.

  • Experience of identifying, designing and integrating media solutions in response to a marketing brief.

  • Has experience of working with multiple agency partners to deliver a single client brief

  • A creative mindset, grounded in commercial goals

  • Experienced with cross- functional team (internal creative agency, insights, media perf, PR…)

  • Insights & data driven to construct hypothesis & concept

  • Gaming or entertainment industry experience is a big plus

  • Our media budget is primarily focused in the US and as such, experience planning media in this market would be preferable However, strong comms, media and tactical planning experience trumps US media market experience for this role.
