Job Description

The Plant Manufacturing Controller at Thales is responsible for all financial operations within a manufacturing plant, ensuring efficient and profitable operations. This includes managing budgets, forecasting, analyzing costs, and preparing financial reports. The controller works closely with plant management to optimize manufacturing processes and identify cost-saving opportunities. The responsibilities involve providing financial analysis, ensuring cost efficiency, performing monthly closings and reporting, maintaining the costing system, contributing to CPU reduction, directing and creating local budgets, performing ad-hoc analysis, updating financial forecasts, managing inventory, validating industrial investments, ensuring compliance with internal controls, supervising accounting entries, and participating in policy and plan development. The role requires experience in industrial controlling and accounting, understanding of manufacturing costing, and knowledge of IFRS, with strong communication and computer skills.
Must have:

Job Summary

The plant controller is responsible of all financial operations within a manufacturing plant, ensuring the plant runs efficiently and profitably. This includes managing budgets, forecasting, analyzing costs, and preparing financial reports. They also work closely with plant management to optimize manufacturing processes and identify cost-saving opportunities. 

Responsibilites

  • Provide financial analysis on different subjects to support management decision making,

  • Ensure cost efficiency in decision making, ensure profitable performance in operations,

  • Perform monthly closing and reporting for manufacturing responsibilities,

  • Maintain and update the site standard costing system, ensure costing data is correct,

  • Contribute to CPU reduction

  • Direct, coordinate and create the local budget for manufacturing,

  • Perform ad-hoc analysis and support new product quotations,

  • Variance analysis between actual and planned,

  • Update site manufacturing financial forecasts,

  • Inventory management,

  • Validate industrial investment (ROI/Payback)

  • Ensure compliance with Thales internal controls requirements,

  • Supervise manufacturing accounting entries, ensure that accounting data is correct,

  • Participate in the development of the local policies, goals and long-range plans.

Experience and education

  • Experience in industrial controlling position

  • Experience in accounting

  • Understanding of manufacturing costing

  • Knowledge of IFRS is an advantage

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Written and spoken communication skills
