Job Description

The Principal Concept Artist will be a key creative contributor, shaping the visual identity of GOALS. Responsibilities include defining the artistic vision, creating concept art for characters, environments, marketing materials, and more; bridging the gap between in-game visuals and branding; rendering character assets; and setting the standard for quality. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of experience in a senior or principal concept artist role, launching a game (preferably in esports), and a strong portfolio showcasing their ability to bridge concept art, in-game assets, and marketing materials into a cohesive visual identity. A deep understanding of contemporary culture, fashion, and sports aesthetics is crucial.
Must have:
  • 4+ years Senior/Principal Concept Artist experience
  • Game launch experience (preferably esports)
  • Strong portfolio showcasing visual identity
  • Understanding of contemporary culture and aesthetics
Good to have:
  • Experience in sports games or lifestyle brands

Welcome to the art team

We’re looking for a highly senior, proactive, and versatile Principal Concept Artist to help drive the visual identity of GOALS forward. This isn’t just about executing orthographic sheets or call-outs; this is about shaping the artistic vision of the game and ensuring it resonates with our players.

As a key creative contributor, you will work closely with the Art Director and Art Lead, setting the standard for quality and execution across the studio. You will not only produce world-class concept art but also inspire and guide artists, ensuring consistency and excellence across in-game assets, marketing materials, and branding.

We’re creating a competitive football game with a bold, modern aesthetic - one that connects deeply with esports, football culture, and contemporary fashion. That means we need someone with a keen eye for style, trends, and dynamic visual storytelling, someone who can turn high-level ideas into high-impact, polished visuals that elevate both our game and brand.

At GOALS you will…

  • Define and develop the artistic vision of the game, shaping its tone, fidelity, and brand identity.
  • Work across disciplines, creating concept art for characters, environments, key art, marketing materials, storyboards, and more.
  • Bridge the gap between in-game visuals and branding, ensuring our marketing materials are as compelling as the game itself.
  • Render character assets from the engine and refine them with illustrative flair for high-quality promotional materials.
  • Set the bar for execution, delivering world-class artwork that inspires both internal teams and our community.
  • Play a key role in ensuring GOALS reaches the highest standards of quality, pushing the brand forward in all aspects.

Ideally you have…

  • 4+ years in a Senior or Principal Concept Artist role, with experience in shaping visual development.
  • Been part of launching a game, preferably in the esports space, demonstrating an understanding of competitive gaming aesthetics.
  • Experience working on sports games, lifestyle brands, or entertainment sectors that align with football culture, fashion, or urban aesthetics.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing your ability to bridge concept art, in-game assets, and marketing materials into a cohesive visual identity.
  • Comfort working across different disciplines, from character and environment concepts to key art, storyboarding, and promotional materials.
  • A deep understanding of contemporary culture, fashion, and sports aesthetics, think modern, stylish characters and vibrant urban environments, not fantasy worlds.


About the Employment

The position is permanent, and you can work from our Stockholm office, hybrid or fully remote from anywhere in Europe. It is important that you are able to communicate unhindered in verbal/written English.
