Job Description

As a Program Manager at Google, you'll lead complex data center construction projects from start to finish. Responsibilities include planning requirements, managing schedules, identifying risks, and communicating with cross-functional partners. You'll coordinate teams across offices and time zones, ensuring projects meet deadlines. The role requires experience in program/project management, data center construction, and managing technical teams. You'll design communication plans, determine program phasing and metrics, collect data, manage tasks and dependencies, and execute change management. Strong stakeholder management and relationship building are essential.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program or project management.
  • 5 years of experience with technical teams responsible for project management, engineering, and construction of data center or mission critical facilities.
  • 5 years of experience with electrical, mechanical, controls, security monitoring, fire safety, networking/fiber, server equipment, systems, or infrastructure.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and understanding standard practices in the design and construction industry, including knowledge of fast track design build processes and associated documents and agreements.
  • Experience in requirements gathering, resource organization, task prioritization, scheduling and achieving objectives within set goals.
  • Knowledge of safety management best practices.
  • Knowledge of large-scale facility electrical and mechanical systems.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $139,000-$207,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver predictable program communication plans in collaboration with program stakeholders, including aimed communications by stakeholder type.
  • Determine phasing and metrics associated with program lifecycle that effectively address continuous improvement including Resource Stewardship (effective deployment of machine and people resources) in close collaboration with program stakeholders, including near and long-term objectives.
  • Determine and collect data required to execute and govern programs effectively. Maintain project trackers and status reports. Identify and execute on program tasks including proactively managing dependencies.
  • Execute change management requirements that are identified by program stakeholders.
  • Build trusted relationships with program stakeholders, including managing expectations of program stakeholders and ensuring they have the insights they need to make effective decisions.
