Google Quantum AI's mission is to build a large-scale computer capable of complex, error-corrected computations and unlock solutions to classically intractable problems. Our roadmap is focused on advancing the capabilities of quantum computing and enabling meaningful applications.
The Quantum Error Correction Theory team studies the design and implementation of error correction schemes, including logical gates and decoding algorithms. This team collaborates closely with experimentalists on implementing error correction with superconducting qubits, so research is focused towards codes that could be implemented in this system, such as topological codes or LDPC codes.
As a Quantum Error Correction Research Scientist, you will perform research to invent new protocols or improve existing protocols for quantum error correction, such as compiling logical gates and implementing accurate decoding. In this role, you will collaborate closely with software engineers to develop and maintain the supporting software, and with other research scientists and hardware engineers in designing and implementing error correction experiments. You will present research findings in internal presentations, external presentations such as conferences, and in academic papers.
A problem isn't truly solved until it's solved for all. Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. Bring your insight, imagination and a healthy disregard for the impossible. Bring everything that makes you unique. Together, we can build for everyone.
