Toast is seeking a Senior HRIS Analyst to join their People Products team, reporting to the HCM Solutions Architect. The role focuses on Workday system configuration to enhance employee experience and operational excellence, with initial emphasis on global expansion and US payroll support. Responsibilities include acting as a Workday subject matter expert, collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve business processes, leading end-to-end system configuration, identifying system improvements, understanding data flows, managing Workday releases and new features, designing reports for data analysis, ensuring data protection compliance, and evaluating new product requests.
Must have:
  • 5+ years of Workday HCM configuration experience
  • 2+ years in another Workday functional area (Payroll, Benefits, Absence, Talent, Compensation)
  • 5+ years of building and maintaining Workday HCM reporting & security
  • Understanding of company system integrations
  • Experience in a highly matrixed, global organization
  • Experience in a SOX-based environment
  • End-to-end process understanding
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Project management experience
  • Collaborative problem-solving approach
  • Ability to multitask under pressure
Good to have:
  • Workday Certification in Workday HCM
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 4 years and a Master’s degree

We are seeking a Senior HRIS Analyst to join our People Products team reporting into the HCM Solutions Architect on the People Products team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for system configuration across various functional areas within Workday that power our employee experience and operational excellence, with the first big initiatives focused on Toast’s global expansion and supporting US payroll. You'll work closely with People, Finance, and IT stakeholders to build scalable and successfully adopted solutions.

About this roll* (Responsibilities) 

  • Serve as the subject matter expert across multiple areas of Workday, with specific focus on HCM, Benefits, and Payroll
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (People Operations, Payroll, Total Rewards, IT etc.) to understand and improve business processes, providing Workday solutions that drive efficiency
  • Lead end-to-end system configuration to support evolving business needs 
  • Continuously identify opportunities for process efficiency and system improvements, adopting a product-driven mindset to optimize Workday
  • Understand data flows, business processes and system usages between Workday and other systems (both internal and external)
  • Drive major Workday releases, including comprehensive plan for adoption of new features and regression testing for impacts to existing configurations
  • Collaborates with business leaders to design and build reports to assist in data analysis, trends, and strategic planning
  • Ensures compliance with data protection regulations and collaborates with various departments to manage security configurations and access controls. 
  • Evaluate requests for new products to determine alignment with existing Toast systems and overall systems strategy goals

Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements) 

  • 5+ years of hands-on configuration experience within Workday HCM, and 2+ years in at least one other functional area (Payroll, Benefits,    Absence, Talent, Compensation, etc.)
  • 5+ years of proven ability building and maintaining Workday HCM reporting & security
  • Workday Certification in Workday HCM (preferred)
  • Preferred a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 4 years and a Master’s degree
  • Understands how company systems are integrated within and outside of the HR organization
  • Has worked in a highly matrixed, global organization 
  • Experienced working in a SOX based environment and have been responsible for programs and processes that are SOX compliant
  • End-to-end process understanding with an ability to develop and maintain processes, and HR service center procedures.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and sound influential skills
  • Project management experience with a demonstrated ability to effectively manage several objectives simultaneously while prioritizing and executing technology roadmap plans.
  • Collaborative problem-solving approach; leverages relationships and strong business acumen to understand not only the “what” the “why” behind requests; displays empathy for partner teams
  • Ability to multitask under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced environment; flexible and able to respond to rapidly changing business needs
