Job Description

The Senior Legal Counsel, Benelux will provide legal counsel to Tesla's business leadership in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg. This role encompasses a wide range of legal matters including sales, service, marketing, commercial contracts, consumer protection, regulatory compliance, and Tesla's Supercharger business. Responsibilities include drafting and reviewing contracts, managing regulatory matters, advising on marketing initiatives, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years' experience in a law firm and/or in-house corporate international environment, ideally with experience as a country/regional lawyer. The role requires exceptional ability to manage complex legal matters, strong communication skills, and a proactive, entrepreneurial mindset.

Must have:

Qualified lawyer in Benelux (Netherlands preferred)
5+ years relevant experience
Exceptional ability to handle complex legal matters
Excellent communication skills (English fluency)
Proactive problem identification and solution development
Strong relationship building skills

The Senior Legal Counsel, Benelux will be part of Tesla’s EMEA legal team working on legal matters in Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg, ranging from sales, service and marketing to commercial contracts, consumer protection and regulatory matters as well as Tesla’s Supercharger business. The focus for this role is to be the trusted advisor for the business leadership in the Benelux countries. You will specifically support in legal matters related to the service and sales business within Tesla and advise on applicable statutory and consumer protection laws, regulatory matters, marketing and real estate and Supercharger contracts as well as proactively manage outside counsel.

The role can be based in Amsterdam, Brussels or Luxembourg. Some business travel will be required.

What You’ll Do

Be a legal trusted advisor for all Tesla business leads in your region
Support all sales and services initiatives(B2C and B2B), including drafting and reviewing terms and conditions, as well as all related legal matters
Provide legal advice for marketing of sales initiatives, the Tesla website and other customer communications
Draft and review contracts relating to Tesla real estate for showrooms and service centers
Draft and review contracts relating to Tesla’s fast growing Supercharger business incl. support of all other related legal matters
Manage all regulatory matters relating to Tesla products in your regions, build strong relationships with key regulators i.e. RDW or EU Commission
Manage all other legal day-to-day work
Liaise regularly with your peers in EMEA, the EMEA Litigation team as well as all relevant global team members and stakeholders

What You’ll Bring

You are a qualified lawyer in in one of the Benelux countries, the Netherlands preferred, with at least 5 years relevant experience at a law firm and/or in-house corporate international environment, ideally with a background in being a country/regional lawyer, with an exceptional ability to handle a high workload of complex legal matters at the same time
You are a team player with the ability to proactively identify problems, drive projects, and execute pragmatic/creative legal and business solutions on a timely basis
You inspire trust, forge relationships quickly with key stakeholders at all levels, and earn the confidence and cooperation of your business partners
You work well both autonomously, collaboratively and transparently, and are effective at juggling and prioritizing competing tasks in a fast-paced, challenging environment
You possess an entrepreneurial mindset, quick and flexible learner, with high standards, impeccable integrity and ethics, unquestionable good judgment, well-honed analytical skills
You have excellent communication skills, with a business level to near native level fluency in English (written and spoken)
