Job Description

The Senior Marketing Manager, EU, based in Utrecht, Netherlands, will develop and implement creative marketing strategies for esports titles like Dota 2 and Valorant. Responsibilities include strategic oversight of marketing campaigns, project management, data-informed approach to evaluating campaign effectiveness, and community engagement. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of marketing experience, proven success managing complex projects, strong communication and teamwork skills, and a deep understanding of the esports landscape. They will work closely with various departments to ensure cohesive campaigns and will be responsible for identifying and capitalizing on growth opportunities within the esports space.

We are seeking a strategic and results-oriented Senior Marketing Manager to join our team in the Netherlands.

The Senior Marketing Manager based in Utrecht, plays a pivotal role in shaping Team Liquid’s marketing strategies for esports titles like Dota 2 and Valorant. You will direct marketing efforts that align with Team Liquid’s broader organizational goals while enhancing fan engagement. Working closely with the Brand, Marketing & Content department, you’ll have the opportunity to manage high-impact marketing initiatives and work with teams to develop innovative projects that push boundaries. You’ll also be instrumental in identifying growth opportunities in the esports space, bringing fresh ideas to enhance audience interaction and increase lasting engagement.

What You'll Be Doing:

    • Strategic Oversight
      • Develop and implement creative marketing strategies for Team Liquid’s esports titles, aligning with the organization’s goals.
      • Coordinate with departments—including content, sales, and partnerships—to build cohesive campaigns that engage fans and broaden brand reach.
      • Identify opportunities within the esports landscape to drive audience engagement and expand visibility.
    • Project Management
      • Manage the full execution of marketing projects, ensuring timely, high-quality delivery.
      • Establish workflows, manage timelines, and allocate resources effectively to streamline campaign execution.
      • Address potential risks proactively and implement solutions to ensure project progress.
    • Data-Informed Approach
      • Evaluate campaign metrics to measure effectiveness and refine future strategies.
      • Apply insights to adapt marketing approaches and enhance contributions to brand visibility and engagement.
      • Present findings and recommendations to senior team members.
    • Community Engagement
      • Act as a representative for Dota 2, Valorant, and Team Liquid’s wider esports audience, factoring in fan interests when shaping marketing strategies.
      • Partner with the content team to design campaigns that resonate with the audience.

What You'll Need: 

  • 5+ years in marketing, with a proven record of successfully managing complex projects and coordinating teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on project execution.
  • Advanced project management skills, with experience using project management tools and platforms.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to craft campaigns that align with both short-term goals and long-term brand growth.
  • Strong communication and teamworking skills, with a talent for fostering coordination across diverse teams.
  • Ability to translate data into actionable strategies.
  • Proven experience in marketing management, ideally within gaming, esports, or entertainment sectors.
  • Strong project coordination skills with the ability to oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Experience developing data-based strategies and refining them based on performance insights.
  • A genuine interest in gaining deeper insights into esports and gaming communities.

You’ll Earn Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Experience managing international marketing campaigns.
  • A background in brand partnerships or sponsorship activation.
  • Familiarity with Dota 2, Valorant, or other major esports titles.
  • Proven experience in guiding and mentoring teams.
