The Senior Manager - Listings Research at Nasdaq is responsible for generating trading insights, communicating the competitive landscape, and managing reporting needs to support Nasdaq’s listings business. This role involves executing statistical analyses focused on key trading metrics and market summary statistics and delivering those metrics to various internal and external audiences. The ideal candidate will have experience coaching and training a team, with an in-depth understanding of trading and an exchange’s role in transforming markets. The role reports to the Vice President, Head of Capital Markets, and manages a team of associates. Responsibilities include expertise in data analysis, communication of analysis, proactive content production, cross-team project management, managing the research team, utilizing and implementing efficient solutions, creating complex models, acting as a resource, managing symbol reservation, embracing technology, and team leadership.

The Senior Manager Listings Researchat Nasdaq is responsible for generating trading insights, communicating the competitive landscape, and managing reporting needs to support Nasdaq’s listings business. This role involves executing a wide range of statistical analyses focused on key trading metrics and market summary statistics and delivering those metrics clearly and concisely to various internal and external audiences. 
 

The ideal candidate will bring experience with coaching and training a team in the best approach to solutions, have an in-depth understanding of trading and an exchange’s role in in transforming markets and economies.  

This role will report to the Vice President, Head of Capital Markets, and manage a team of associates. This opportunity will involve working directly with multiple groups across Nasdaq and utilize various resources to produce strategic analyses, client requests, sales support and manage pre-listing efforts. 
 

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Expertise in Data Analysis: Utilize a comprehensive understanding of exchange-related data in and the best way to approach customer needs and articulate results to internal and external stakeholders. 

  • Communication of Analysis: Communicate applicable findings in a concise, clear and easily understood format both visually and descriptively. 

  • Proactively Produce Content: Collaborate and proactively share insights to showcase Nasdaq’s market structure and listing benefits. Discover strategies that will assist in business development and retention efforts to get key findings in front of the applicable audience. 

  • Cross-team Project Management: Work closely with other internal groups including Economic Research, Index, Listing Qualifications, Legal and Marketing to lead listing initiatives. Keeping in mind project scope, objective, timeline and deliverables. 

  • Manage Research Team: Assist and Lead team in producing trading analysis, market comparison reports, pitch content, media requests and pre-IPO efforts including symbol reservations. 

  • Utilize and Implement Efficient Solutions: Guide the team in the most efficient and productive solution to requests. Research and interpret financial and statistical data from a variety of sources. 

  • Create Complex Models: Ability to create complex models for internal and external use that will assist in the understanding of the Nasdaq listing product. 

  • Act as Resource: Provide timely and accurate status updates to Account and Senior Management. Get involved in various internal initiatives that require data analysis. 

  • Manage Symbol Reservation: Manage the process and communication internally and externally around Symbol Reservation. 

  • Embrace Technology: Look for ways to utilize the current resources including AI and grow use within the team.  

  • Team & Talent Leadership: Lead, motivate and develop a small team of eager research associates. 

Skills/Requirements & Competencies 

  • Comfort with a high level of accountability and ability to self-check 

  • Expertise in Excel, FactSet, Bloomberg, Pitchbook, Salesforce, Power BI, Tableau and AI capabilities 

  • Excellent communicator who can clearly explain processes to high level internal and external contacts. 

  • An analytical approach to problem solving and comfort with statistics to know which stats are appropriate to articulate different figures when considering data results. 

  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. 

  • Able to work in a high-pressure, fast paced environment. 

  • History of understanding exchange business and competitors 

  • Understands how related disciplines impact own work. 

  • Solves complex problems with minimal supervision; takes a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information. 

  • Explains difficult or sensitive information in a diplomatic way; works to build consensus. 

  • Proactively shares experiences and knowledge towards the achievement of team objectives. 

Education 

  • Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Information Systems, Mathematics or equivalent experience. 

  • Experience Required: 10+ years of experience

The base pay range for this role is $109,100 - $181,800. In addition to base salary, Nasdaq provides a generous annual bonus/commission (short-term incentive), and equity (long-term incentive), comprehensive benefits, and opportunity for growth. Exact compensation may vary based on several job-related factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, experience, education/training, business needs and market demands.
