The ideal candidate will have experience with media planning, activation, and digital marketing. They should also have experience with FMCG and/or healthcare brands.

About the role

Haleon are recruiting for a Northern Europe Senior Media Manager on a full-time contract, in a Hybrid Working role.

Fixed term contract from June 2025 to June 2026

We are looking for a Senior Media Manager for Northern Europe (NE) to work within our NE media team. This role will support and report into the Media, Digital & Marketing Capabilities Lead, working collaboratively with other Media team members. The main responsibilities will be to partner with our brand teams to develop & manage world-class, data-driven Communications Plans, with a strong focus on Digital, leverage Haleon’s scale in the marketplace, and support the management of a cutting-edge agency model.

The Senior Media Manager position is a key role within Haleon with the mission of empowering the marketing teams with better media planning and buying capabilities by: ensuring media strategy is directly tied to and delivering on brand marketing objectives, while also ensuring the Haleon digital vision of collecting, leveraging and seamlessly integrating data and insights into media choices is being deployed. This will require candidates to have an understanding of digital media capabilities and tactics, understanding the technical foundation needed to support effective digital campaigns, and being able to clearly communicate these dynamics to our brand partners. We’re looking for someone collaborative, passionate, driven, curious and constantly looking to adopt new technology and take advantage of new trends in the media landscape.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide Consumer Healthcare Brand Marketing teams with paid media specialist resource to efficiently and effectively maximize return on the brand connection’s full funnel plan
  • Support the Media Director with the oversight of all paid media channel planning, sufficiency modelling and stewardship. Also support driving digital integration and innovation across Video, SEM/SEO, Display, Social, Strategic Media Partnerships, Programmatic and eCommerce
  • Support the management of the overall media agency relationship as well as work with cross functional partner teams/agencies to align objectives and develop integrated connection campaigns
  • Take a lead role in the media strategy and planning process for Annual Brand Planning across the region
  • Working with procurement and local market to manage agency agreements and identify further saving opportunities at a local market level
  • Work in close collaboration with Dcomm media manager to ensure full integration of Dcommerce planning across the CEJ
  • Champion for the media effectiveness roadmap, defining new pilot opportunities, and aligning with the right set of measurement tools, to create effectiveness guidelines
  • Leading the agency to roll out the media budgeting process and media management platforms
  • Supporting the management and development of the NEU Media Manager
  • Working with BU category leads to define and size long term growth opportunities for the region. And curate media guidelines for NEU local hero brands
  • Driving the media capability agenda across the region to train, and upskill local marketing teams, in their understanding of media planning and activation
  • Work across boundaries by building and developing trusted relationships with key stakeholders in order to deliver a respected and authoritative media counsel, i.e. collaborate and lead media related projects with other functions (Digital, Tech, Insights, Analytics)
  • Support the implementation of strategic value added programs with our Media Partners such as Google, Facebook and Amazon
  • Collaborate with the performance marketing teams in the development of a comprehensive data strategy, and develop our data driven marketing solutions
  • Use and analyze industry trends, performance data, and other digital resources to inform strategies, audience development, test & learn opportunities, optimizations and measurement frameworks
  • Work closely with agencies to drive consumer insights through use cases built through our tech stack, analytics, and econometric learnings to deliver an ROI positive performance media program
  • Collaborate with and support Global Strategic media managers to ensure global strategic guidelines are interpreted accurately by local media agency and executed brilliantly

Qualifications and skills

Essential

  • Media agency experience and/or working within a client side media specialist team (10+ years)

  • A comprehensive understanding of media planning, activation and trading agreements both online and offline

  • Confident communication skills, with experience of managing and delivering presentations to senior leadership teams

  • Demonstrable experience in digital marketing, cross-channel integrated media strategy and communications planning

  • Capability in developing TV and Digital buying strategies with an understanding of Advanced/Connected TV, Search (SEM/SEO), Programmatic, Social (including Influencer) and eCommerce

  • Experience with analytical, empiric media planning tools and holistic integrated strategy approaches

  • Understanding of Paid, Owned, Earned, aspects of Digital marketing and how it fits as part of on overall, integrated marketing mix

  • Ability to build relationships and manage performance of key partners

Preferred

  • Previous experience of working with FMCG brands and/or healthcare brands
  • Previous experience of working with multiple markets
  • Experience working with and stewarding programs with Media partners such as Google, Facebook, Amazon, etc
  • Managing a team, or direct report development
  • Thought Leadership on innovation and emerging media
  • Experience in performance driven media, development and implementation of data driven strategies
