The Senior Panel Manager at WebMD will oversee the growth and management of both the WebMD patient panel and the Medscape healthcare professional panel. This role requires hands-on management, strategic thinking to build and optimize panel growth and engagement, and a deep understanding of the market research industry and healthcare marketplace. Responsibilities include developing and executing acquisition and retention strategies, working with cross-functional teams (marketing, data management, product development, and customer support), optimizing the panelist experience, ensuring data quality, and presenting KPIs to management. The ideal candidate will possess 10+ years of experience in online market research and panel management, a strong understanding of healthcare data sources, and proficiency with various software and tools.
Must have:

  • Oracle, PL/SQL, Tableau knowledge

WebMD Market Research is a unique team within the company. Our primary goal is to support healthcare market researchers execute their research projects by tapping into Medscape’s healthcare professionals.  In 2025, we will be launching a patient survey panel by leveraging the WebMD visitors. The Market Research Panel and Marketing Manager will be responsible for providing input on and implementing the retention and acquisition strategies of our health care professional and patient survey panel. This role will work closely with the executive director of market research and multiple departments (marketing, data management, product development and survey customer support) to successfully drive the market research business forward. 
Responsibilities 
  • Hands-on management and expansion of the WebMD patient panel and Medscape healthcare professional panel.
  • Gain a complete understanding of how the WebMD and Medscape sites are leveraged to grow our survey panels.
  • Gain a complete understanding of the Medscape data to leverage for targeting and validation of members.
  • Support the client service team on individual project targeting issues.
  • Master our panel and project execution platform.
  • Optimization of the panelist experience (including the incentive payment process) to maximize retention, value for the respondent and value for WebMD/Medscape. 
  • Responsible for maintaining the quality of the respondents through validation of the panel and security checks.
  • Work closely with customer support and the market research team to identify and implement process improvements that lead to improved panelist satisfaction and retention.
  • Collaborate with external departments to ensure the on-going health of the panels.
  • Execute strategies to improve panel KPIs (eg. Acquisition, retention, response rate, completion rate). 
  • Present KPIs to management with recommendations on improvements. 
Qualifications Required:
  • 10+ years of applicable experience in online market research, marketing and/or panel management.  
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience with panel management
  • Must have the ability to think strategically to help build an approach that supports panel growth and engagement.
  • Must have a keen understanding and knowledge of the market research industry and operations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and stay organized among many different priorities at once.
  • Ability to problem solve and think creatively.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Must be self-motivated and organized in order to work independently, driving initiatives forward with little guidance. 
  • Must be a team player and able to effectively interact with staff at all levels of the company
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS-Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
  • Experience and understanding of the healthcare marketplace and various data sources (NPI, AMA, etc.)
  • Experience and knowledge of databases and how to query them
Preferred:
  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in marketing, market research or other aligned major.
  • Experience with quantitative and qualitative market research
  • Knowledge of market research legal and privacy policies
  • Experience with global healthcare market research and/or panels
  • Experience in digital marketing is a plus
  • Knowledge of Oracle, PL/SQL, Tableau is a plus
