The Opportunity
Postman is seeking a Partner Engineering leader who is passionate about APIs, partnerships, ecosystems, and developer experience and success.
Partner Engineering is responsible for providing technical leadership and guidance to our users and partners throughout the entire lifecycle of their Postman Ecosystem developer experience. Reporting to the Head of Partnerships and Ecosystem, you will be responsible for:

Defining our partner engineering strategy

Seeding and scaling how we onboard, support, and scale the Postman Ecosystem

Driving developer and app success across customer, partner, as well as Postman developers
With a focus on API collaboration, cloud, and AI, you will work cross-functionally with customers, partners, and internal teams to streamline the end-to-end developer experience including, awareness, education, onboarding, support, adoption, performance, and scale alongside best-in-class tools and companies, ranging from the largest of enterprises to the scrappiest of startups.
You are eager to get your hands dirty, doing individual contributor work to drive execution excellence across teams, yet you can naturally up-level your strategic thinking.
Responsibilities

Be an expert on Postman, including our core product, platform capabilities and API, technical architecture, as well as how Postman can impact their business

Act as the primary technical point of contact for key partners, including customers, ISVs, and SIs. Guide them through onboarding, integration, design reviews, troubleshooting, and ongoing support

Lead partners through high-level architecture to code implementation, ensuring smooth technical integrations with Postman

Create technical content (i.e., webinars, docs, blogs) and develop tools, sample apps / code, best practices at scale to show partners how to implement specific use cases or best practices

Present solutions, technologies, proposals, and best practices at partner meetings, executive reviews, conferences, workshops, and events

Partner cross-functionally (i.e., product, engineering, analytics, partnerships, GTM, customer success, operations, etc) across Postman and partners teams to execute on partner plans, product launches, and drive developer success

Foster a vibrant partner community and implement feedback mechanisms to continuously improve partner satisfaction and scale success

Collaborate with cross functional teams within Postman to run beta programs for new features, improve the platform, and grow the ecosystem

Aggregate feedback, explore new strategic opportunities, and inform our product roadmap

Build close ties and meaningful relationships with key partners and senior executives

Clearly and concisely communicate and evangelize our strategy, internally and externally
-
Define our partner engineering strategy, frameworks, programs, processes, and culture to scale our motions

Define and move key success metrics (i.e., satisfaction, adoption, engagement, performance, usage, support efficiency) for customers, partners, and Postman
Requirements

You're a passionate Postman user!
-
8+ years of relevant work experience as a software engineer, partner engineer, sales engineer, developer experience, and / or related experience, preferably in SaaS, APIs, or cloud platforms.

Proven track record of successfully launching and scaling apps, partnerships, and partner programs that delivered meaningful business results alongside cross-functional teams (i.e., product, engineering, design, marketing, community, support, field, etc)

Deep technical experience (i.e., API principles, architecture, scaling, support, etc) building on or supporting developer ecosystem platforms such as Microsoft, GitHub, Slack, Atlassian, HubSpot, Monday, etc

Scaled creation of developer content, including code sample apps, code, best practices, SDKs, tests, etc to scale partner engagement and support (please provide examples)

Extremely strong written and spoken business and technical communication (i.e., technical content, blogs, presentations, speaker) to drive action and change across multiple levels and roles (please provide examples)

Great listener and passion for working with people where you can clearly and concisely explain complex, technical issues in such a way that most people could understand

Not afraid to get your hands dirty doing individual contributor work and problem solving while also thinking and working at a higher level to define ways to scale motions

Ideal combination of technical, product, and business expertise, including deep understanding of developer tools and workflows, collaboration, and ecosystem dynamics

Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong ability to understand and troubleshoot technical issues

Fantastic organizational and analytical skills for problem solving, requirements gathering, developer feedback, and roadmap prioritization

Comfort with change and ambiguity, with an adept ability to ruthlessly prioritize, move fast, and test-and-iterate quickly

Relevant applied experience building, testing, and deploying AI solutions using cutting-edge AI models (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Cohere, Stability AI, Meta’s LLaMA, Mistral).

What Else?
This role is based in the greater San Francisco Bay area, and we offer a base salary range of $208,000 to $245,000 as well as shares. Actual compensation is based on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition to our pay-on-performance philosophy, we offer a comprehensive set of benefits, including full medical coverage, flexible PTO, wellness reimbursement, and a monthly lunch stipend. Salaries will vary outside of the listed metropolitan areas & the U.S.
