Job Description

NVIDIA seeks Software Engineering interns to contribute to the development and production of their autonomous vehicle software. Interns will collaborate with cross-functional teams, integrating work into the DRIVE SW platform while adhering to NVIDIA and automotive standards. Responsibilities include building and maintaining next-generation services (build workflows, telemetry), creating human-in-the-loop applications, improving service resiliency, working with global teams on system software for autonomous vehicle fleets, and exploring algorithms for data analysis using Python. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in Python/Java/Go/C++, experience with containerization, excellent communication skills, and a passion for autonomous driving.
Must have:
  • BS/MS in CS/related field
  • Proficiency in Python/Java/Go/C++
  • Experience with Docker/Kubernetes
  • Excellent communication skills
Good to have:
  • Experience with AWS/GCP/Azure
  • Deep understanding of Linux
  • Knowledge of distributed computing
  • Automotive/IoT knowledge

Job Details

NVIDIA is searching for engineers to develop and bring NVIDIA's autonomous vehicle out to the world. You will participate in a focused effort to develop and productize ground-breaking solutions that will revolutionize the world of transportation and the growing field of self-driving cars. You will work with talented and dedicated multi-functional engineering development teams across various subsystems to integrate their work into our autonomous driving DRIVE SW platform, while achieving or exceeding all relevant NVIDIA and automotive standards & guidelines. What You'll Be Doing:

  • In this role, you will be collaborating with front-end, back-end developers, collaborating with a diverse team of DevOps, IT and security engineers as well as machine learning, deep learning experts. You will be creating human-in-the-loop and management applications at the frontier of what is possible in machine learning today and getting a front seat view of the action in this very hot space from a team and a company driving the progress at the cutting edge. 

  • Working together with other excellent engineers to build and maintain the next generation services including build workflows, Telemetry, and much more. 

  • Learn and create valuable features for end users and greatly improve NVIDIA autonomous driving product’s user experience. 

  • Identify areas to improve service resiliency through industry standard practices. 

  • Working with NVIDIA global teams to build and maintain the next generation system software for autonomous vehicles fleet including telemetry, cloud services, data processing and much more. 

  • Exploring different algorithms to generate valuable insights from big data. Python will be your go-to tool for exploring and manipulating big data. You will use Python libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and Matplotlib to visualize and analyze data, enabling better understanding and decision-making and contributing to the continuous improvement of our autonomous driving solutions. 

What We Need to See:

  • Pursuing BS, MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field. 

  • Proficiency with programming languages such as Python/Java/Go/C++ and proficiency in software development fundamentals. 

  • Experience with container-based virtualization (e.g. Docker) and container orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes). 

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. 

Ways To Stand Out from the Crowd:

  • Familiar with at least one major cloud service provider- AWS, GCP, Azure. 

  • Deep understanding of Linux, and Linux application/services development. 

  • Familiar with distributed computing, high scalability and availability design, multi-thread, load balance, such as high-performance server architecture. 

  • In-depth knowledge of Automotive/IoT is a plus. 

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for learning and staying up to date with the latest trends in software engineering and technologies.
