Project description

We are partnering with a leading Australian company to spearhead transformative data initiatives, including cloud migration and data lake implementation. Our mission is to build a strong offshore team to support these strategic projects. We are seeking an experienced Solution Designer with expertise in mid/long-term strategy, cloud migration, and data lake products such as Snowflake and Databricks. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in shaping and executing data solutions that align with the company's strategic objectives. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-impact projects and contribute to our expanding offshore capabilities.

Responsibilities

Develop and articulate mid/long-term data strategies aligned with the company's business goals.

Design and implement cloud migration strategies, ensuring a smooth transition to cloud-based data platforms.

Create and maintain data architecture blueprints, including the design of data lakes and integration with Snowflake, Databricks, or equivalent technologies.

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, translating them into scalable and efficient data solutions.

Oversee the development of data models and schemas to support analytics and business intelligence needs.

Provide guidance on best practices for data governance, security, and compliance in cloud environments.

Lead the evaluation and selection of data technologies, tools, and platforms to meet project and business requirements.

Ensure alignment between technical solutions and business objectives, adapting designs as needed based on evolving requirements.

Work closely with data architects, engineers, and other team members to ensure cohesive and effective implementation of solutions.

Skills

Must have

7+ experience in developing and implementing mid/long-term data strategies.

Expertise in cloud migration, including planning, execution, and optimization of cloud-based data solutions.

Strong experience with data lake products, specifically Snowflake and Databricks.

Deep understanding of data architecture design, including data modeling and schema creation.

Proficiency in data governance, security, and compliance practices in cloud environments.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable technical solutions.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience presenting technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects concurrently.

Nice to have

Experience with other cloud data platforms such as AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, or Azure Synapse.

Knowledge of data integration and ETL tools.

Familiarity with data visualization and analytics tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar.

Relevant certifications in Snowflake, Databricks, or other data management technologies.
