Summary

Enphase Energy seeks a Sr. DVT Engineer to lead and deliver medium-to-large projects, focusing on Design Verification Testing (DVT) for their storage (portable) grid-agnostic system. Responsibilities include overseeing DVT execution, providing technical direction, troubleshooting system failures, collaborating with the development team, documenting test plans and reports (JAMA, Arena), and performing data analysis. The ideal candidate possesses strong electrical engineering fundamentals, experience with power electronics, battery management systems, and proficiency in scripting (Python). Experience with JAMA, JIRA, and Arena is a plus. This role requires expertise in various communication technologies (UART, I2C, SPI, etc.) and familiarity with relevant codes and standards (UL2743, IEEE 1547, etc.).
Must have:
  • 5+ years exp in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or 3+ years with ME/MTech)
  • DVT experience for storage/grid systems
  • Power electronics, battery management systems knowledge
  • Proficiency in Python scripting
  • Experience with JAMA, JIRA, and Arena
Good to have:
  • Experience in Inverter, UPS design & troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of grid-tied inverter validation
  • Understanding of microgrid and renewable energy systems

About the role

  • Understanding of Single-phase DC/AC power systems and DC/DC power systems
  • Understanding of Lithium-ion based Battery management systems.
  • Understanding of PV inverters and arrays
  • Understanding of UART, I2C, SPI, Power line, RF, and other communication technology
  • Codes and regulatory standards, especially those relevant to PV and communications (e.g., UL2743, IEEE 1547, IEEE 2030.5, SunSpec, UL 1741, IEC 62109 etc.)
  • Intermediate to advanced coding capability for inverters and balance-of-system equipment
  • Ability to lead and deliver medium-large projects.
  • Integration experience of hardware, software, and firmware
  • Experience with Python automation scripting.
  • Oversee the DVT execution plan and provide technical direction to the other DVT Engineers
  • Conduct Design verification test (DVT) to assure full coverage of Storage (Portable) grid agnostic system design.
  • Troubleshoot the system failures encountered during DVT and analyze root cause for the failures.
  • Work with development team to aid fixing the failures encountered during system DVT.
  • Responsible for documentation of test plan and test reports of complete system in JAMA and Arena
  • Read system DVT plan and files as well as system documents to aid troubleshooting during system DVT.
  • Database management for test results, test data analysis either manually or using python-based data analysis script in JAMA, JIRA and Arena


Who you are and what you bring:  

  • BE/BTech with 5+ years of experience in Electrical/Electronic engineering or ME/MTech with 3+ years of experience or PhD in Power Electronics or power system design/ verification/ test
  • Hands-on experience with electrical and electronics systems
  • Good understanding of basic electrical engineering concepts, including circuit theory and Electrical system
  • Good communication skills
  • Analytical, decision making and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Desire and passion to change the world.
  • Understanding of energy storage, micro grid and renewable energy systems
  • Experience in Inverter, UPS, Power Electronic circuits design and troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on Experience in handling the lab electronic equipment.
  • Knowledge in Lithium Ion based Energy storage systems, Battery management system.
  • Experience in grid tied inverter validation and advance grid profile functions.
  • Experience with using JAMA, JIRA and Arena project management tools.
