 As Sr. Manager for Licencing, you will lead the development and execution of a commercial growth plan for Licensed Consumer Products business with Hasbro’s appointed local licensing agents in your aligned Hasbro APAC markets, driving accelerated growth and delivery of agreed financial targets as well as local, regional and hub OneVoice projects and brand objectives. In this role you will report directly into the Licensing Director for APAC (Excl Greater China) based in Singapore. 

 

This role will also be expected to deliver on financial targets through development and execution of a comprehensive strategic plan and the development and mentorship of a thriving high performing team.   

 

Responsibilities:

 

 

Business Management:

 

  • Oversee development and the building of long term profitable partnerships with Agents,  licensees and all Consumer Products partners to ensure Hasbro is positioned in the APAC region (Excl China)  as the market licensor of choice.

  • Oversee, drive and manage agents in the markets (SEA, JAKO and Australia) to ensure a clear business dev strategy for each market.

  • Oversee and as necessary directly negotiate with key licensees whose manufacturing core competencies, brand interpretation capabilities, pricing models and distribution strengths support growth initiatives.

  • Oversee management of all categories ensuring that deal negotiation, relationship building, distribution strategies, reviewing/approving product concept drive our growth objectives

  • Co-lead development of select One Hasbro initiatives and oversee the execution of merchandise "go-to-market" strategies using market knowledge (e.g., industry, competitive set, Company needs) and JBP’s/account plans to maximize short and long-term growth.

  • Conduct with agents and key partners bi-annual top to top meetings a general business update and to ensure that all business opportunities are being discussed, explored and exploited.

  • Remain curious and connected seeking out information on existing and prospective licensees to ensure that Hasbro’s portfolio of partners is ‘best in class’.

  • Ensure regular communication of plans to both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Oversee management of Gap Analysis by brand, category and channels to identify potential leads.

 

Financial Management:

  • Lead annual budget planning and accurate quarterly forecasts updates.

  • Lead and deliver financial targets to the agreed budgeted phasing with focus on quarterly targets.

  • Manage all costs to plan.

  • Lead quarterly financial planning reviews with key agent and team  to ensure that predetermined growth targets will be met and ideally exceeded.

  • Ensure timely collection of cash

 

Retail Management:

  • Develop and lead strong and productive relationships with key buyers and merchandise/marketing personnel across all relevant channels and retailers.

  • Fully understand retail buying calendars, decision-making timeframes and decision influencers to effectively position Hasbro’s properties against the competitive set.

  • Identify merchant’s strategies/initiatives and seek opportunities for Hasbro brands. 

  • Consistently and effectively communicate brand strategies to buyers to gain support for our properties

  • Ensure that our existing partners continue to have the resources and retail influence to achieve or maintain placement of our properties.

  • Co-lead One Hasbro retail initiatives with agreed retailers and prioritized brands.

 

Market Trend Analysis:

 

  • Understand and effectively interrupt and communicate to internal and external partners and business contributors key economic and market trends (planogram space, buying patterns, competitive set); performance of existing competitive properties and future property launches.

  • Develop intimate knowledge of competitive properties at retail.  Develop an understanding of key buyer support; competitive property performance, and marketing/promotional initiatives that may impact Hasbro’s ability to get properties placed and/or generate high-performing POS.

  • Stay connected with industry trends and developments through networking, attending trade shows and relevant industry functions.

 

 

People Management:

 

  • Provide leadership and management of 1+ team members ensuring their on-going development needs and performance objectives are identified and met.

  • Partner in the development of talent plans for each member of the team that include succession planning and talent development.

  • Develop and retain an engaged, thriving high performing team.

  • Demonstrate inspirational leadership to the team and all other departments within the Hasbro business.

  • Demonstrate a true team player mindset and encourage collaborative behaviour the CP team members.

 

Qualifications And Skills:

  • Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in consumer-packaged goods marketing, sales or retail environment.

  • People management experience with the capacity to actively lead, monitor, train and develop to drive a team’s success.

  • Action orientated, self-motivated sales professional with demonstrable business acumen.

  • Experience and ability in managing multiple stakeholders.

  • Evidence of clear leadership qualities, including balanced decision-making ability and sound judgment and calculated decision making.

  • Strong analytical and financial skills.

  • Clear, persuasive, verbal and written communication skills including active listening ability.

  • Superb presentation and storytelling skills.

  • Creativity, enthusiasm and passion.

  • Able to challenge and bring new ideas and thinking to the business.

  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.

  • Ability to adjust priorities and operate in a past paced and highly fluid environment.

  • Adopt the Asia Pacific regional behaviours and model the way for the team.
