As a Staff Business Analyst, you will be part of a brand-new team of proactive data-driven insight partners for the corporate and functional leadership at Barracuda in Bangalore, India. You will be responsible for managing analytical insight projects and business partner communication. Your responsibilities include in-depth data analysis to identify growth opportunities, use data visualization tools, and develop relationships with other departments. You will work with cross-functional teams to drive revenue and user growth through improved subscription renewals and new account activation. This role demands strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate insights effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. You'll also be responsible for identifying areas to improve profit margins and product portfolio optimization, collaborating with global leaders. The role involves driving insight generation, contributing to Barracuda's progress in cybersecurity.

Must have:

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
Experience with analytics tools and methods.
Proficiency with Advanced Excel, SQL, Apache Spark, Python, R.
Strong communication and presentation skills.

Good to have:

Experience working in global multinational organizations.
Prior exposure to the B2B Software-as-a-service (SaaS) subscription-based business model.
Prior experience with Databricks, PowerBI and Salesforce.
Prior experience in supervising, coaching, or mentoring junior analysts and/or interns.

We are seeking experienced and strategic analytics professional to join our global capability centre at Bangalore, India. This is an individual contributor role but involves managing and leading analytical insight projects and stakeholder relationships on key functional domains. You will be part of a brand-new team of proactive data-driven insight partners for the corporate and functional leadership at Barracuda. In this critical global impact role, you will be responsible for managing analytical insight projects and business partner communication for one of the several functional domains (e.g., Product, Sales, Financial Planning) at the company. As part of your charter, you will use strong business acumen and analytics/data science expertise to drive insight generation that will support revenue and user growth through improved subscription renewals and new account activation, churn reduction, profit margin improvements and product lifecycle management initiatives for Barracuda. The contributions you make will have a big positive impact on the company’s progress as it rapidly evolves its business model and product portfolio as a top global player in the rapidly growing cybersecurity industry.

As an analytics expert and business partner, you will work closely with functional leaders globally from Finance, Sales, Product and Data Engineering, as well as senior corporate executives (CXO) as required. You will connect the dots by analysing data across the enterprise to answer critical business questions as well as to proactively identify insights that drive business impact and growth opportunities. Along with your manager and colleagues in the Bangalore-based team, you will work innovatively and collaboratively to help senior decision-makers at Barracuda understand business and product performance, ROI on investments, identify opportunities for growth/retention and help connect learnings across functions for strategic and tactical planning & actions.

What you will be working on

Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify opportunities for revenue and subscriber growth, churn reduction, product portfolio optimization, and improved profit margins.
Use innovative and efficient ways to extract and analyze relevant data and metrics from across the organization, and deliver insights that enable decision making, enhance customer experience, and drive better business outcomes.
Design and develop advanced analytical models and interactive dashboards or tools to identify trends, build forecasts and provide insights for optimizing performance.
Utilize data visualization tools to communicate complex data insights in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with IT, finance, and other departments to ensure smooth data access and integration, as well as to build an overall story of what the data is telling about the business.

What you bring to the role

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with 7-10 years of relevant work experience (or relevant Masters’ degree/MBA with 5-7 years’ experience).
Experience with analytics tools and methods (e.g., using BI tools and coding techniques to extract insights, experimentation frameworks like A/B testing, attribution models, measuring incrementality of business actions, statistical approaches for segmentation, classification, and prediction etc.). Prior experience with Gen AI tools will also be desirable.
Proficiency with Advanced Excel is important. Proficiency in SQL, Apache Spark, Python, R (multiple preferred) is an important pre-requisite to query, transform/compute and analyze the data.
Ability to effectively influence, communicate and present cross-functionally with all levels of management internally and externally. Concise and engaging storytelling skills with Data visualization (Charts/Graphs) and PowerPoint.
Ability to speak with confidence and credibility to business decision-makers about the value of analytics without being too technical, with data scientists and other analysts globally about analytics methodologies to answer questions, and with the Data Engineering/IT side of the organization about data access & integration.
Strategic with proven demonstration of depth and breadth on multiple topics of interest in the business. The execution should be agile & efficient.
Experience working in global multinational organizations is desirable. Prior exposure to the B2B Software-as-a-service (SaaS) subscription-based business model is a plus. Developing awareness and understanding of the Barracuda business strategy and wider industry landscape is expected as part of working in this role.
Prior experience with Databricks, PowerBI and Salesforce will be desirable but not mandatory. Experience with data visualization applications such as Tableau, R Shiny, Alteryx or QlikView etc. is also relevant.
Prior experience in supervising, coaching, or mentoring junior analysts and/or interns is a plus.
