Summary
Senior Lead Engineer, Firmware development, Software Engineering:
Celestica is looking for a talented and passionate SmartNIC developer to join our team. You'll be responsible for designing, developing, and testing software that runs on SmartNICs, enabling high-performance networking and offloading critical workloads from the main CPU.
Key Responsibilities
- Software Development: Design, implement, maintian software modules/APIs, security features for SmartNICs including drivers, firmware, and application-specific logic. Optimize code for data center efficiency
- Hardware Integration: Integrate the SmartNIC with the other hardware components and resolve hardware-related issues.
- Performance Optimization: Analyze and optimize network performance, identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions.
- Collaboration: Work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with engineers, peer functional leads, PLMs, Mgmt team, Communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences
Enabling Competencies
- Strong programming skills: Proficiency in C, C++, P4 and other low-level programming languages.
- Networking knowledge: Deep understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, Ethernet, etc.) and concepts.
- Hardware experience: Familiarity with DPU and other main elements of CPUs, memory, and network interfaces architectures.
- Operating system knowledge: Experience with Linux kernel development or other embedded operating systems.
- Debugging and testing skills: Ability to identify and resolve software and hardware issues.
- Problem-solving skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with SmartNICs: Prior experience developing software for SmartNICs and understanding of cloud computing architectures and services is the plus
Physical Demands
- Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
- Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
- Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
- Occasional travel may be required.
Experience
- 12 to 15 years of relevant experience.
Education
Bachelor degree or higher education in Engineering
