About the job

Job Description

As a Structural Design Engineer, you will work with multidisciplinary teams including Product Design, Industrial Design, Hardware Engineering, Reliability and Operations to drive product development from concept to production to ensure product structural integrity. You will own and drive analysis of designs, enabling early optimization prior to prototyping, root cause, and failure analysis of mechanical problems. You will generate FEA (Finite Element Analysis)/analytical models of mechanical parts, modules, and assemblies, use static, dynamic, structural and thermal-mechanical analysis, and create and develop methods to predict field failure models. You will also build simulation models by using verification, calibration, and validation techniques and best practices leading to high-quality results. You will drive the exploration, validation, and integration of new technologies, materials, analysis methods, and tools to advance and expand team capabilities. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify risk, create analysis/simulation/validation plan, and propose solutions to problems based on analysis data, and iterate through the entire product development cycle to optimize the design to achieve product performance objectives.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or related field
  • 5 years of experience in mechanical properties of materials
  • 5 years of experience with structural simulation software
  • FEA tools (e.g., Abaqus, Ansys, etc.)
  • Experience with manufacturing processes
  • Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)
Good to have:
  • Master’s degree or PhD in Mechanical engineering
  • 5 years of experience with structural simulation in consumer electronics
  • Experience with designing, building, and testing prototypes
  • Experience with advanced material characterization and modeling
