As a Sustaining Operations Program Manager at Google, you'll lead complex projects in electronic product manufacturing, working with cross-functional teams and external partners. Responsibilities include driving manufacturing readiness, managing risks, communicating with OEMs, ensuring quality and performance goals are met, and adapting plans to changing customer requirements. You will work in a fast-paced environment, leading regular meetings, and collaborating with stakeholders across various locations. The role requires strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with experience in electronics manufacturing and supply chain management. Success will involve effectively managing production ramp-up, transitions, and ongoing efficiency improvements across factories.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in electronics/computer hardware
  • Manufacturing/operations experience in OEM management and supply chain
  • Lead cross-functional teams
  • Manage production risks and quality
Good to have:
  • MBA or Master's degree in relevant field
  • Experience with consumer technology market
  • Experience with OEMs, ODMs, and third-party suppliers
  • Experience working with global teams

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience working in electronics/computer consumer hardware.
  • Experience with manufacturing/operations in original equipment manufacturer (OEM) management and supply chain management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Research, Operations Engineering, or a relevant field.
  • 3 years of experience in sustaining operations program management (e.g. electronic product manufacturing) or equivalent.
  • Experience in the consumer technology market and with OEMs, Original Device Manufacturers (ODMs), and third-party suppliers.
  • Experience working with global and cross-functional internal/external teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and achieve goals, with excellent analytical, quantitative reasoning, problem-solving, creativity, and strategic skills.
  • Ability to communicate in English fluently to participate in complex technical discussions in English.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional teams within Google and with external partners to prepare for production ramp and product transitions.
  • Drive manufacturing operational readiness in the factory, leveraging partner resources as well as ongoing efficiency and improvement across factories.
  • Anticipate production and operational risk, communicate/partner with OEMs to manage line bring-ups, qualification, material availability, and quality issues.
  • Lead regular meetings to communicate plans with cross-functional operations and demand planning. Adapt plans based on changing customer requirements.
  • Work with OEM partners to ensure performance goals for Quality, Turn Around Time (TAT), and Throughput (I/O/S) are met or exceeded.
