About the job
We are seeking an experienced technical leader to join our growing team and lead development of the embedded software for our high-speed fiber optic transceiver products. This position will work closely with other transceiver engineering disciplines for requirements analysis, design, implementation, and test of embedded software for our fiber optic transceiver products. You will work with our technical teams and help us to deliver our family of optical transceiver solutions to the market. This is an on-site position working out of our Bangalore, India office.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Lead software design, development and code reviews
- Develop high-quality C code in a real-time embedded environment
- Work with the cross functional teams to design, implement, & test embedded SW solutions
- Specify, design, implement, and test functionality and behaviors of embedded subsystems
- Design software test strategies and collaborate with verification test teams
- Provide technical leadership for software developers and mentor engineers on the team
- Communicate and document software architectures, designs, and test plans
- Participate in hands-on hardware bring-up, system debug, and code optimization
Skills/Experience
- BS degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- C/C++ programming experience in embedded and/or real-time environments
- Programming experience in Python or C# using MS Windows-based IDE
- Exp. working with embedded real-time op. systems in resource constrained environments
- Work experience with ARM based microcontrollers and/or bare-metal SoC programming
- Experience with mixed signal and data acquisition systems (ADCs and DACs)
- Hands on experience designing control systems
- Experience with microcontroller-based embedded SW development tools, (IDEs, compilers, & debuggers)
- Working knowledge and experience with optical communications systems, optical transceiver modules and the OIF Common Management Interface Specification
- Experienced with serial communications protocols, such as I2C, I3C and SPI
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, such as abstraction, layering, modularization, and interface design, with a focus on delivering high-quality, reliable software
- Proven ability to analyze complex problems and develop innovative, effective solutions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and driving projects to successful completion with minimal oversight
- Ability to read and understand schematic diagrams
- Experience using common test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, signal analyzers, protocol analyzers
- Experience with common software development tools, such as Git, Bitbucket, Jira
