Key responsibilities
Reporting to the Area Head of Safety & Resilience SEA, this role is responsible for transportation safety and resilience for Southeast Asia Logistics & Services (LnS) products and Transported by Maersk (TbM) Operations.
Key responsibilities include:
Developing and implementing strategies, policies, practices, and action plans to ensure transportation safety at the area level.
Driving capability building and standardization across all operations in Southeast Asia.
Ensuring compliance of transportation vendors and contractors with local legislation and Maersk contractual requirements.
Establishing processes for reporting and investigating safety near-misses, incidents, and accidents among transport vendors and contractors.
Consulting international standards and local regulations on transportation safety for stakeholders, vendors, and contractors.
Conducting risk assessments on transportation activities (air freight, trucking, rail, and barge) and office operations.
Collaborating with procurement, vendor, and operation managers to manage vendors’ and contractors’ KPIs.
Coordinating with procurement, CX, sales, and product teams to conduct audits on vendors and contractors to ensure compliance with Maersk and local regulations. Conducting assessments and audits for new vendors and contractors during onboarding and at regular intervals.
Collaborating with depot managers on depot operations and providing guidance on traffic management plans.
Demonstrating strong customer-facing skills and interacting with customers as a subject matter expert.
Developing a strong team through coaching, mentoring, and performance evaluation.
Demonstrating creativity and communicating new insights and ideas. Thinking outside the box and showing great drive to achieve high levels of performance through innovation.
We’re looking for
8 years of experience in Safety & Resilience within Logistics & Supply Chain.
Certified Safety Officer 4 (SO4).
Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Good understanding of risk management principles.
Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
Ability to drive innovation, manage change, and handle ambiguity.
Ability to work well under pressure and manage conflicting priorities.
Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001.
Experience with dangerous goods.
Strong investigative and analytical techniques.
