Job Description

ByteDance seeks a UX Researcher for its Global E-commerce team. Responsibilities include understanding consumer, merchant, and influencer needs in North America and other global markets; collaborating on research questions to shape product strategy; designing and implementing research using qualitative and quantitative methods (usability studies, focus groups, interviews, surveys, A/B testing, etc.); synthesizing findings into actionable insights; tracking product impact on user behavior; and conducting foundational industry research. The role requires 5+ years of UX research experience, preferably in e-commerce, a relevant Bachelor's degree, and strong analytical and communication skills. International travel to Latin America is required.

About the Team Monetization Office is the strategic team of Douyin Group, providing support for Douyin Group's various business lines with the perspectives of strategy, user research, data science, macro research, etc., helping the business to grow more healthily and steadily at all stages, and becoming the most reliable strategic partner. In this role, you will: 1. Work closely with cross-functional leads to deeply understand the needs of E-commerce consumers, merchants, and influencers in the North American market and other global markets; 2. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify the key research questions that will help shape the E-commerce product strategy in different markets; 3. Identify and create the best research methods based on the question, timeline, and resourcing; 4. Design and implement research, synthesize findings into practical and impactful insights to help stakeholders make decisions; 5. Measure and track how product changes affect user behaviors and attitudes over time across different markets, reveal the key reasons with solid data rationale; 6. Initiate foundational research and gather insights from relevant industries to help stakeholders explore the possible solutions to challenging long-term product questions.

Qualifications

1. Minimum 5 years of experience in UX research, preferably in the E-commerce/tech industry; 2. Bachelor's degree or above in Psychology, Statistics, Sociology, Marketing Research, Economics, International Trade, or other related fields; 3. Experience using both qualitative and quantitative research methods, such as: usability studies (remote/in lab), focus groups, interviews, concept tests, diary studies, surveys, data analysis, A/B testing, etc. 4. Ability to work independently with limited supervision and take initiative to solve problems and learn new things; travel to Latin America for 2 to 3 weeks per quarter for business purposes. 5. Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time in a fast paced environment; 6. Great written and spoken communication skills to influence product partners and major company decisions; 7. Ability to analyze large sample data with statistic tools, such as SQL, Python, R, SPSS. 【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $90000 - $210000 annually.​
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.​
