Are you passionate about pushing the boundaries of technology and ensuring the highest standards of quality and reliability? Do you thrive in a dynamic, innovative environment? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.
The System Quality and Reliability (QNR) team leads the way in developing and executing system stress tests to ensure Intel products meet or exceed quality and reliability standards. Our lab environment supports many Intel market segments, including client and server CPU, PCH, SoC, GPU, and Memory Controllers. We are dedicated to driving innovation and excellence in the semiconductor industry.
As a Quality and Reliability System Engineer, you will collaborate with partner teams to define, enable, and execute system stress experiments that align with product and platform timelines. These experiments typically involve controlling frequency, voltage, and temperature while running test benchmarks to artificially age and characterize parts. Your role will be pivotal in driving innovation by developing new software solutions to reduce costs, expand capabilities, and improve the quality of our testing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Innovative Experimentation: Develop and execute system stress experiments based on product requirements in both Windows and Linux environments.
Automation Mastery: Automate system stress flows to control voltage, temperature, and frequency.
Tool Development: Create and refine test tools and scripts to debug and validate system test content.
Workload Optimization: Analyze and tune workloads to optimize their effectiveness within system-level stress experiments.
Insightful Analysis: Analyze and report on stress testing results, providing insights and recommendations for improvements.
Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Requirements listed would be obtained through a combination of industry-relevant job experience, internship experiences, and or schoolwork/classes/research.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Technical Experience: 3+ years’ proven experience in building PC systems as well as experience working with PC components, from both hardware & software side (example: modern CPU components, motherboards, ram, various operating systems, etc.). Solid understanding of computer architecture.
Communication Skills: Proficiency in English (B2 level or higher), with strong verbal and written communication skills. Candidate will be working with international teams.
Programming Proficiency: Strong Python programming skills. Alternative programming expertise will be considered on a case-by-case basis (example, C++ or any other object-oriented programming language)
OS Experience: Experience working with various Operating Systems, including Windows and Linux (e.g., Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, Fedora).
Current agreement is hybrid – 1 day in the office per week, agreement subject to change in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
Version Control and Issue Tracking: Experience with modern version control systems (e.g., Git) and issue tracking (e.g., GitHub or others).
Scripting Skills: Scripting skills in PowerShell, Batch, and/or Bash.
Benchmark Analysis: Proficiency in running and analyzing results from commercial benchmarks.
Board design Schematics: Ability to review and understand board design schematics.
Data Analysis Skills: Familiarity with structured query languages (e.g., MS-SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI, JMP, Excel).
Validation and Measurement: Experience with electrical validation and signal measurement using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and similar hardware.
