Summary

As a VAT Compliance Managing Consultant at PwC Belgium, you will be the primary client contact for VAT compliance needs, ensuring regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include advising clients on strategies, processes, and policies; leading VAT compliance projects; expanding knowledge of Belgian and international VAT regulations; collaborating with tax colleagues; building professional networks; leading client service teams; and coaching the VAT compliance team. The ideal candidate will possess at least 5 years of relevant experience (in-house, Big 4, law firm, or tax authorities), a Master's degree in a relevant field (postgraduate tax law qualification is a plus), strong analytical skills, fluency in English, and excellent communication and teamwork skills.

In order to reinforce our team, we are looking for a Global Tax (Senior) Manager.

Your Impact

As a VAT Compliance Managing Consultant within our team based in Belgium, you will be the primary point of contact for clients, assisting them with their VAT compliance needs and ensuring they meet all regulatory requirements.

You'll make an impact by:

  • Advising clients on VAT compliance strategies, processes, and policies to ensure they meet Belgian and international VAT requirements.

  • Leading VAT compliance projects in a structured, critical, and creative way to support our clients' needs.

  • Continuously expanding your knowledge around Belgian and international VAT regulations and sharing this knowledge with the team.

  • Collaborating with other tax colleagues to offer comprehensive solutions to our clients.

  • Building your professional network and maintaining current client relationships to collaborate on business opportunities.

  • Leading a client service team and ensuring service delivery according to high-quality standards.

  • Actively coaching the VAT compliance team and playing a significant role in the further development of the VAT practice.

You have:

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in VAT compliance.

  • Experience gained in-house, in a Big-4 or law firm, or with Tax Authorities.

  • A Master’s degree in Tax law, Business Engineering, Finance, Economics, or other quantitative discipline. A postgraduate qualification in tax law is an asset.

  • A strong interest in business and corporate strategy.

  • Strong analytical abilities.

  • Interest in working in an international environment.

  • Fluent knowledge of English; knowledge of Dutch or French is a plus.

  • The ability to take complex concepts and analyses and clearly explain them in written form.

  • Attention to detail, the ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously, and a willingness to take ownership of assigned tasks.

  • The ability to work well in team-based environments and have strong communication skills.

  • The ability to take a coaching role for the VAT compliance team and guide younger professionals in their career development.
