Job Description

As a Working Student in Game Design, you will work closely with the game director, designers, and developers to shape the player experience. You'll support the design of game systems, balance, mechanics, and content, contributing ideas that directly impact the gameplay and world-building of the upcoming title. Responsibilities include assisting in the design and iteration of core gameplay systems, prototyping and testing mechanics, balancing game content, writing design specs, and researching game trends.
Must have:
  • Passion for survival, sandbox, or city-building games.
  • Strong analytical and creative thinking skills.
  • Basic understanding of game design principles.
  • Ability to clearly communicate ideas in writing and verbally.
  • Proactive attitude and desire to learn.
Good to have:
  • Familiarity with tools like Unreal Engine, Jira, Notion, or Miro.

Your Role

As a Working Student in Game Design, you'll work closely with our game director, designers, and developers to help shape the player experience. You’ll support the design of game systems, balance, mechanics, and content, contributing ideas that directly impact the gameplay and world-building of our upcoming title.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and iteration of core gameplay systems (e.g., progression, crafting, AI behavior)
  • Prototype and test mechanics using internal tools and documentation
  • Balance game content for challenge, pacing, and progression
  • Support in writing clear design specs and feature documentation
  • Research game trends, player behavior, and competitors to inform features
  • Collaborate with art, narrative, and engineering to ensure a cohesive player experience


Requirements

  • Passion for survival, sandbox, or city-building games (e.g., Minecraft, Valheim, The Forest, Manor Lords)
  • Strong analytical and creative thinking skills
  • Basic understanding of game design principles and player psychology
  • Ability to clearly communicate ideas in writing and verbally
  • Proactive attitude and desire to learn in a fast-paced environment
  • Bonus: Familiarity with tools like Unreal Engine, Jira, Notion, or Miro
