Position Overview
Apollo Asset Management Europe (AAME) is seeking an individual to work as an Analyst/Associate within its Insurance Solutions Group International (ISGI) Investment Reporting Team. This team provides support to insurance clients and portfolio companies managed by Apollo. The candidate will assist in the preparation of investment reporting, portfolio monitoring and investment performance calculation while working directly with the investment teams.
The candidate should understand data processing and management and ideally have experience with accounting systems, front end investment platforms, and / or reporting tools. Working with portfolio managers, members of the investment team, data analytics and Fund Controllers, the candidate will be assisting senior portfolio managers on fixed income principles, relevant analytics (DV01, CS01, Spread, Yield), macro market indicators and risk factors. As a Fin-Tech role, the candidate will work on investment reporting and infrastructure and utilize their skills to standardize and automate reporting using coding and data mining / reporting tools like Python, SQL, VBA, PowerBI, and Tableau.

Primary Responsibilities
Data & Analytics
- Utilize strong data management skills used to gather both structured and unstructured data from multiple source systems and then clean, consolidate and transform it into key insights.
- Ensure data quality through oversight, standardization, governance, and automation, utilizing tools like Collibra or in-house built SQL queries.
- Apply analytical skills to solve complex business problems and identify common themes and solutions.
- Analyze reported investment numbers to flag modelling issues, data inconsistencies and articulate remediation solutions.
- Assist in the preparation of investment decision information and bespoke analyses.
- Liaise with other ISGI functions to respond to client and stakeholder queries.
- Provide support for ISGI’s weekly, monthly & quarterly portfolio monitoring processes and ongoing analytics to track the strategic asset allocation and performance.
- Produce routine portfolio performance reports, including AUM calculations and risk analytics with a focus on process improvement and automation.
- Support the various investment desks (BSM, ALM, Return Seeking, Cash Management) with the required data to facilitate the investment decision process.
- Collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, providing data, reporting, and actionable insights to support the team’s success.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: (Academic, Professional, Experience)
- A minimum of 3-7 years of experience in a Financial Services or Asset Management industry.
- Proficiency and exposure across liquid fixed income markets and synthetic derivative instruments.
- Experience of independently performing detailed analysis that highlights portfolio risk and have deep understanding of financial modelling.
- Proficient in data management/manipulation, data analysis, reporting, presentations, and database management (advanced excel & VBA, Power Point, SQL, Python)
- Excellent organizational skills, flexibility to balance multiple tasks simultaneously and capacity to work in a fast paced and high-pressure team environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Superior verbal and written skills; high level of accountability, detail orientation and ability to collaborate and communicate clearly.
- Strong understanding of insurance specific asset management tenets like ALM, capital management and accounting.
- Deep understanding of fixed income principles, relevant analytics (DV01, CS01, Spread, Yield), macro market indicators and risk factors.
- Experience working with European life insurance companies with exposure to the specific investment constraints of regulated balance sheets (Solvency 2, IFRS accounting, etc.) a plus.
- Proficiency with UBS Delta, reconciliation tools, PowerBI or Tableau a plusBachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, business, finance, information technology, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
