The Analyst, Operational Support Change is responsible for running checks and supporting automation activities. They focus on incident reporting before market open and coordinating any check changes. The team, based in Manila, Philippines, covers London business hours, handling checks for various markets and systems. The role involves proactive system checks, managing technical incidents, providing system health updates, and ensuring service quality. Continuous service improvements, especially automation, are also a key focus. The role requires logging into key front-end tools, expanding the team's scope, enforcing metrics, and creating clear procedures. The analyst will work with other operational and engineering teams. The analyst must also maintain daily housekeeping work, documentations, and KPI updates.

  • Experience with Networking, Snowflakes, Python / Java, & electronic trading systems.
  • Confident teammate with good social skills and a 'can do' demeanor.

Good to have:
  • Knowledge of equities and debt instructions and associated corporate events would be advantageous.

Role Profile

The Analyst, Operational Support Change is primarily responsible for running the checks and support automation activities.

Specifically, the Analyst should be focusing on incident reporting with confidence before the market open and coordinating any check changes.

Team Description

The team works primarily to cover London business hours while being based in Manila, Philiphine. Handling checks for a range of markets, admissions, client activities, technical processes, systems, and front-ends ahead of the markets start time.

Department Description

The Market Operations Services team provide the centralised function for the maintenance of key trading services and reference data databases spanning the LSE, Turquoise, and TRADEcho venues.

The department acts as a first point of contact for customers (both issuers and member firms) requiring immediate or planned actions, assessing suitability for admission of issuers and impacts of corporate actions on reference data.

It coordinates the production and dissemination of communications to customers and key organisations including EUI, CCPs, UKLA and FTSE. The area leads close operational relationships internally and externally.

  • To perform a number of proactive, confirmatory checks across a range of markets and tools to ensure that all the systems in scope are healthy and ready for the business day.
  • To manage technical Incidents should any of the aforementioned checks fail.
  • To provide all stakeholders with updates on the health of the systems in scope at predetermined checkpoints.
  • To use correct processes/procedures, tools, RACIs, SLAs and blocking issue models.
  • To perform proactive customer alert management and event logging to help ensure appropriate levels of service quality are consistently and predictably delivered.
  • To provide continuous service improvements with a focus on, among other aspects, automation.
  • To log into all key front-end tools needed for internal users and external facing customers.
  • To expand the scope of the team by introducing new checks.
  • Enforce to divisional critical metrics and KRIs
  • To create accurate and clear procedures for any new checks introduced.
  • To assist management with any ad hoc requests, as required.
  • Has the sustained drive and energy to deliver support service to the required level of timeliness and quality.
  • Willingly makes the effort to ensure activities are completed on time and to the quality required.
  • Makes use of project management methodologies (e.g.: schedules of work; progress reports etc.)
  • Deals with conflict effectively.
  • Seeks information /inputs from colleagues/clients.
  • Work closely with other Operational teams for check implementations and automation improvements.
  • Support the engineering team on Automation improvements for the check’s effectives
  • Maintain Daily housekeeping work, documentations and KPI updates

Candidate Profile / Key Skills Required

  • Relevant industry experience and recent experience in a similar role.
  • Networking, Snowflakes, Python / Java,  electronic trading systems, market data, ITSM tools, Excel, ServiceNow, Control-m
  • Financial industry experience/ Knowledge of FIX protocol
  • Must be a confident teammate with good social skills and a ‘can do’ demeanor.
  • Worked in professional and customer-focused environments, where processes must be followed.
  • Accuracy with attention to detail.
  • Must be able to work to deadlines and under pressure.
  • Knowledge of equities and debt instructions and associated corporate events would be advantageous.
  • Proficient in MS Office products.
  • Quick learner
