As an Account Manager for Partnerships at 160over90, you will be part of a team managing sponsorship strategies and marketing initiatives. This involves developing and implementing partnership strategies, evaluating sponsorship opportunities, and supporting contract negotiations. You'll create detailed project plans, manage timelines, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure events and programs meet brand standards. Daily tasks include interfacing with account team members, clients, and agencies, as well as managing the RFP and performance measurement processes for sponsorships. You'll be responsible for creating client-ready materials and collaborating with internal creative staff. This position requires a minimum of 5-7 years of experience.
Must have:
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 5-7 years of relevant agency or client-based account management experience.
  • Experience with brand positioning and marketing strategies.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Experience working within sports sponsorship.

The Role and What You’ll Do:

At 160/90, the Partnerships team is comprised of subject matter experts around the world helping clients create, negotiate, activate and evaluate integrated marketing programs.

Based in either Chicago or Detroit, this Account Manager position will be part of a dedicated agency team responsible for managing sponsorship strategy and executing marketing initiatives across a client’s partnership portfolio.   

This is not a remote position. We are looking for qualified candidates in either Chicago or Detroit.

  • Participate, develop and implement partnership strategy and activation; evaluate additional sponsorship opportunities and support contract negotiations as appropriate
  • Provide strategic thinking and recommendations for client and agency at large
  • Develop detailed project plans for assigned events, and manage timelines to ensure deadlines and deliverables are met and within budget
  • Partner with internal divisions, external stakeholders, and third party vendors as needed in the execution of events to ensure activities and services meet protocol and brand standards
  • Interface with other account team members, client(s) and all appropriate agencies and partner properties on a daily basis to coordinate all fulfillment aspects of assigned programs and events
  • Manage the upfront RFP and evaluation process for new. prospective and existing sponsorships, as well as the after-action performance measurement process based on established client objectives
  • Create and maintain client-ready materials, such as POVs, recommendations, and activation plans
  • Collaborate with internal creative staff to brief necessary projects and ensure high quality, on-time deliverables


You Have These:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant agency or client-based account management experience
  • Experience working within sports sponsorship, league and team level experience preferred
  • Experience with brand positioning, marketing strategies, and experiential marketing
  • Participation in the selection, negotiation, and evaluation of successful sponsorship programs
  • Proven ability to prioritize workflow, manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive results
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with client management experience preferred
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively, and to problem-solve independently and in groups
  • Enthusiastic and flexible team-first player with a proactive approach
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time (including weekend events)
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
