The Role and What You’ll Do:
This Director position will play a client leadership role as part of a dedicated agency team responsible for managing the day-to-day partnership activations of a client’s global sports sponsorship portfolio including NFL, Tennis, Music and Formula One. The focus will be on the management and delivery oversight of the clients Formula One team partnership,. The Director will be responsible for day-to-day client relationship leadership as well as oversight of an integrated Partnerships and communications team based in London and working with Continent teams in US/Canada, APAC, EMEA and CALA.
Client-Servicing
Build strong, trusted and lasting relationships with client counterparts
Demonstrate strong people skills and aptitude for understanding, identifying and empathising with client requirements and responding with solutions
Act as the agency’s lead in the planning and delivery of activations and initiatives in F1
Working with client and agency continent teams to ensure that global sport partnership activations are consistent and efficient for the client
Partnership management
Build and maintain strong relationships and regular dialogue with relevant rights holders, ambassadors and key stakeholders across the clients’ Formula One partnership
Demonstrate solid understanding of partnership contracts, rights packages and have a proven ability to ensure contractual assets are managed and maximized to drive value to the client
Show a consistent and accurate approach to budget forecasting and management
Campaign/activation management
Take the agency and client relationship lead on critical path planning and project management, client management, delivery, budgeting, reporting and general administration
Bring PR and Communications expertise to the table to help amplify campaign messaging far and wide
Working collaboratively with 160over90 functions (Strategy and Creative) to deliver fully integrated client campaign outputs
Business/Industry Knowledge
Ability to quickly absorb and immerse in client business, category and specific challenges
Show an understanding of the relevance and impact of sports and other partnerships on businesses
Show and continually seek a clear understanding of relevant sports or partnerships landscapes and an ability to communicate recommendations and ideas both internally and to the client accordingly
Experience and understanding of fully integrated campaign delivery a must.
Demonstrate a knowledge and network in Formula One
Ability to manage a team across multiple service disciplines and areas of expertise.
You Have These:
A minimum of 15 years of agency or client-based sponsorship account management experience. Specific disciplines could include sponsorship marketing, event marketing, and/or sponsor servicing.
Global property activation across Formula One is a must.
Understanding of the business of sports, sports media and sports marketing/sponsorship is highly preferred.
Ability to manage the development and implementation of sponsorship marketing strategy on behalf of client or company.
Ability to manage day-to-day relationships with client, agency(s) and vendors.
Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously
Experience with on-site event marketing operations and logistics.
Experience with working with internal teams (account/creative) as well as other agency partners.
Superior client relationship/service skills.
Strong ability to think strategically and creatively.
Ability to problem-solve independently and in groups.
Bachelor’s degree.
Excellent time management, written and oral communication skills.
Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel & Word.
Ability to travel on an ad-hoc basis
