The Azure Public Sector Sales Manager is a senior leadership role within Microsoft's enterprise sales organization. This role requires leading, developing, and managing a high-performing team of Azure Specialists to drive revenue and market share within key public sector industries. Responsibilities include pipeline and sales management, exceeding revenue and consumption targets, fostering strong partnerships with internal and external teams, and driving customer engagement at the CxO level. The role demands developing and coaching a team, employing a 'challenger mentality', and focusing on customer-centric strategies. Significant experience in public sector cloud services and strong leadership abilities are essential.

The Azure Public Sector Sales Manager is a senior leader within our enterprise sales organization and leads, develops and manages a team of high performing Azure Specialists to drive solution opportunity revenue and market share across key public sector industries. This role is a key leader in our overall Azure sales strategy, responsible for coordinating holistic cloud efforts across infrastructure, data, applications, and security.  Preferred candidates will carry both cloud technical and business acumen to lead digital transformation efforts with customers that own both technical and decision making, including executive board rooms.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, Analytics, Data Science, or related field AND technology-related sales or account management experience.
  • Sales leadership experience in cloud services growth and consumption
  • People management experience, including managing high performance sales and technical-specialist teams, coaching solution specialist and account development strategies, and/or leadership roles in multi-tiered large organizations.
  • Experience in Public Sector will be a plus

 

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Pipeline and Sales Management: Lead sellers to build and maintain strong, accurate pipeline and drive the Azure business to overachieve revenue, consumption, and scorecard targets
  • Drives strong partnership with sales teams and other teams engaging in the customer (e.g., partners, services, Customer Success, engineering support, etc.) to identify new business opportunities
  • People Management: Develops a high-performing team by hiring diverse talent, prioritizing development, leading by example and by preparing people for more senior positions in other parts of the organization.
  • Coaches Seller’s with a “challenger mentality” by prompting Seller’s to engage early and lead with new insights on how to grow the customers’ business.
  • Customer centricity: Lead from the front, personally engaging at CxO level to support and coach teams on opportunity discovery and acceleration Engages with technical and business leaders on both business and technical outcomes to drive customer value.
  • Partner Engagement: Bring together Microsoft solutions with Partner solutions, fully leverage the synergy effect with Partner solutions, fully leverage the synergy effect with our partners, and co-sell with them to make deals bigger and faster.
