We are looking for a detail-oriented Junior Data Warehouse QA Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have some experience in data warehousing, ETL processes, and data quality assurance. You will ensure the accuracy, reliability, and performance of our data warehouse systems.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts for data warehouse and ETL processes.
- Perform data validation and data quality checks to ensure data integrity.
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and business rules.
- Identify, document, and track defects and issues, and work with the development team to resolve them.
- Conduct performance testing and optimization of data warehouse systems.
- Automate repetitive testing tasks using appropriate tools and frameworks.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of test cases, test results, and testing procedures.
- Receive queries from stakeholders about issues with the data warehouse, investigate these issues, and escalate them as necessary.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in data warehousing and QA.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Some experience as a QA Engineer, preferably in a data warehouse environment.
- Basic understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and data modeling.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with data querying and manipulation.
- Familiarity with QA tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud-based data warehousing solutions (e.g., AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, Snowflake).
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell scripting) for test automation.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
